Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
With the increased cold north winds
blowing through our area last night, we reluctantly had to sleep with the
windows closed again. It was however cool enough that when we finally woke up this
morning we felt totally refreshed. Compared to last Saturday when it was needed
you’d have thought that the Air Conditioner had been on most of the night.
We did manage to get a few things accomplished
besides breakfast and our morning reading. Kathy was amazed how well the new
bedspread looked and fit on our bed. The winter bed cover was too big and bulky
while the original was too small and lightweight but this one was just right.
It will also be easier to handle and is machine washable.
The sun was shining brightly this
morning but the temperatures were in the low fifties and inside the trailer
almost felt like we were inside an icebox. Kathy busied herself logging the
purchases that we’d made yesterday onto the spreadsheets for our expenditures,
to who the early Christmas gifts were going and then actually
wrapping those gifts.
After having a wonderful Chicken Fruit
Salad that Kathy made for lunch we headed to Windsor with a number of things we
wanted to do. Heading up Walker Road we notice that the sun had disappeared
behind a wall of clouds and the wind had increased. Stepping out of the car was
starting to feel like late fall rather than late spring. Our first stop was at
the Regional Post Office Processing Plant where we were able to drop
off some mail. By doing that it guarantees that it will be on its way tomorrow.
Our next stop was at Guardian Storage where we collected our mail before going to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. There we had lots to store including
the freshly wrapped Christmas Gifts.
We were planning on stopping for gas but
as we were leaving the storage yard the stupid engine light came on. After
filling the tank with gas I checked the oil level and found the oil down
slightly but looking around outside and in the station they carry no oil so we
planned on getting that at Canadian Tire.
Last year when I worked at connecting the
Solar Panels on the trailer I found
cracks in the Junction-box mounted
on the roof. I also noticed that it was more difficult connecting the wires
than I had planned because I’d used a small box. So we made a quick stop at Electrozad where I got a slightly larger and better built Junction-box for the trailer. It should
make any additional connections easy to make.
A quick stop at the Credit Union for some unforeseen banking before we stopped at the Zehrs grocery store for more salad and food stocks.
Next we picked up extra oil at Canadian Tire but even after adding more oil than was required the engine
light remained on. We’ll have to get the code checked out.
Cooler temperatures have helped the plants. |
It was now past 5:00 so we stopped at Dairy Queen where we each enjoyed one of their value meals for supper.
We just arrived Home and unloaded the car when the 6 o’clock News started. The adage
no news is good news holds true. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much good news
this evening but the sun did come out for a while.
We’ve mentioned in the past that we like
to use lists so that when we are running errands or going shopping we don’t
miss anything. Today we didn’t use a list we forgot it and guess what? The biggest
reason we needed to go to the storage yard for was forgotten. Oops!!! Guess
where we’ll be going later this week? Thanks for
following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

ReplyDeleteGood catch on the junction box cracking. Water and electricity don't mix too well... ;c)
ReplyDeleteI have an ipod touch, I put the app called myShopl, my shopping list on the ipod. It is amazing, you can create a list for many stores so you never forget a thing. Best of all it is free.
