Embarrassing Moment And Remembrance Day

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Kathy was the one who had a difficult time sleeping last night. She even spent time on the computer trying to tire herself out before she was finally able to fall back to sleep. Myself, I slept so soundly that when 7:00 this morning arrived I was wide awake already sitting at my computer doing my morning reading. It was only natural that Kathy would sleep in to make up for the sleep that she lost through the night. As the clock neared 9:00 I started getting breakfast ready and just the sound of the kettle in the kitchen snapping off was enough to wake Kathy in the bedroom.

After breakfast Kathy headed to the computers while I got cleaned up before we headed out on the first of our errands. Our first stop was Walmart where we had our new Passport Photos taken. The photo shop was having a special and since we’d had our Passport Photos taken we were able to have a free photo session and be eligible for a free photograph. Like our friend George always says “Free is good!”

Our next stop was downtown Windsor where amazingly we had no problem finding a parking spot. Our destination was the Passport Canada Office to renew our Passports which expire in January. Imagine how dumbfounded we felt when we got to the office to find it closed for the Federal Holiday of Remembrance Day. Since being retired we very seldom think of this day as a holiday. To us today is special day with great meaning that we thank those who fought so we could have Freedom yes, but as a holiday no. You look around and you see most of the retail outlets open and you lose track that to some this is an actual holiday. On our way back home we stopped at the Credit Union and found it closed as well just like all the nearby banks.

At the apartment Kathy needed to have a Snap to make up for the sleep that she lost last night. I worked on the computer making certain that all the links we have listed on our sidebar would properly function. The reason behind this process is to eliminate the Bad Request 400 Error to the blog. This error is a possible incorrect URL. By the end of the day there are eight less links on our sidebar but we still can’t post any pictures on our blog.

After supper we headed out to Amherstburg for our weekly visit with our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa. We had a great time talking about a number of things from the boys schooling to an Orthodontist appointment for Matthew. Before we left to come home I borrowed the cutoff saw and masonry blade from Kevin so that I’ll be able to complete the landscape job for our daughter Karen.

Hopefully we’ll both sleep well tomorrow and we’ll accomplish what we couldn’t get done today. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
