Hot Sun.

Our Location today is Sugar Loaf Key, Florida, USA.

For whatever reason we both managed to sleep until nearly 8:30 this morning. We did however wake up feeling very refreshed. With no outings planned for the day we settled in at the computers to get caught up on what our family is doing back home and what other RVers are doing at the present time. We did have our biggest kid back home complain that we were keeping the gift ideas to ourselves and it just wasn’t fair us not putting them on the blog. Our daughter Karen said with the warmer temps the snow is melting and making their backyard into a miniature lake and it is very muddy. Once we’d finished our reading I busied myself getting the computers completely updated and just barely had it finished before lunch. 

Once lunch had settled we were able to open our awning for the first time since we arrived at the Sugar Loaf KOA because our former neighbor’s slides were over hanging onto our site. With the truck being so close to our trailer it was impossible to do. I also set up our chairs and tables so that Kathy could come outside to do some reading while I took the time to exercise with my barbell and dumbbells. The wind was from the north but at such a slight breeze it was barely noticeable. After an hour we were both ready to cool off in the Air Conditioned trailer. When I checked the Weather Network this evening before writing this blog post the temperature had been 82 F (28 C) but felt like 100 F (38 C) while we were outside. 

Kathy went to the computer to do some online banking while I again tried to make adjustments to our flagpoles. It seems the clips continue to hang up which causes the flags to wrap around the poles instead of floating free. 

While we were at the Flea Market on Summerland Key yesterday we’d purchase a couple of LED lamps that I planned on installing in the rear bedroom of the trailer. I started by removing the original lamp closest to the wall switch and when I went to pull the wires through the opening that was made at the factory I found it impossible. The fittings they had applied to the wires would turn across the opening thus blocking it. Using a utility knife I had to make the hole big enough to get a finger in the opening before I could change the fixture. 

The hole pattern for the middle four screws was the same as the original with only the outer four holes being slightly farther out. By the time I finished the second lamp Kathy already notice the room was brighter and now that it’s dark outside it’s really noticeable. We’ll be making a few more trips to that Flea Market before we leave the Keys. 

The sign may say private but these two should get a room.

For supper Kathy made a wonderful chicken salad. Tomorrow we’ll mix chores and playtime together so we can enjoy more of the Keys. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
