Change of Plans.

Our Location today is Sugar Loaf Key, Florida, USA.

Once again we managed to sleep soundly until nearly 8:00 this morning. We were in the process of making breakfast when the power in the trailer again went out. Being a little frustrated at what had happened power-wise on our site this week the first thing I checked for was a fault reading on our EMS. Since there was no display what-so-ever I looked towards the pedestal that we were plugged into to verify it was still connected. When I saw neighbors outside jestering that they also had no power we just went back to eating the part of our breakfast that was ready. Minutes later our power returned and our AC started cooling the trailer once again while the kettle finished boiling water our coffees.

Once we’d finished breakfast we chose to get caught up on our E-mail and Blog reading. Having first noted the outside temperature when we first got up I double checked as soon as I sat at my computer to see that the temperature had already reached its maximum for the day but felt much warmer. With the high heat Kathy passed on going for a bicycle ride so we worked together on researching our return trip home. We had our return all planned in Jello before heading south this past winter but a few things have changed so we’ll be changing some of our return route.

After lunch Kathy started the Crock Pot to make her version of Honey Garlic Chicken Wings for our supper. When she makes them for any kind of get-together there’s nothing but the empty container to bring home. She also did some vacuuming while I went outside to continue sorting my hardware that I store in the truck into the new organizers. There is still a few small bins that have to be sorted but at least I’m now rid of the organizer that caused the problem in the first place.

We totally enjoyed our supper of the Honey Garlic Wings with a Sweet Potato for our side. For dessert we walked over to the camp store and bought an ice cream treat. We notice on our way that at least half the campground is now empty as the Snowbirds are slowly heading north. Sandy was on duty in the office and she asked about our power going out this morning. She then informed us that the outage had effected half the Keys all the way up to Marathon Key. It was a relief for us to know that it wasn’t just our site.
Who says chickens don't grow on trees?
Kathy and I would like to welcome our newest blog follower msucheermom. Unfortunately there is no blog information at this time but if that changes I’ll pass along a Shout Out so we can see what she is up to. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Plans in jello is the way we like to travel, no reservations just wander on down the road.

  2. Our power went out for a few minutes yesterday morning as well. Not long enough to need the generator though, fortunately.
