Run Around Town Day.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Last night was another turn around Kathy managed to sleep soundly while I was awake half the night even after I used a Tylenol to try and sleep. I still managed to be awake before 8:00 so it wasn’t long before Kathy followed. We didn’t sit around to have breakfast or to read anything on the computers. Kathy had blood tests scheduled for this morning that she had to fast for. So when she has to fast out of courtesy I do the same so that I won’t be eating in front of her when she can’t. By the time we were on the road it felt strange to once again be sharing it with School Buses.

After dropping Kathy off and parking the car I sat in the waiting room waiting. Fifteen minutes passed when Kathy came out front saying she wasn’t finished. She talked with the receptionist because somehow the doctor had not filled in what lab work she wanted done for the blood tests. We sat and talked for about five minutes when the receptionist came out to say the problem had been rectified, the doctor apologized for the mistake and the lab was now waiting for her. Three minutes later Kathy was coming out to schedule a follow-up appointment.

We stopped for breakfast at A&W using a coupon of course before headed up Howard Avenue to check the name of a restaurant that we used to go to that had undergone renovations just this year. We are making dinner plans with friends and needed to know the proper name to give them.

After driving by the restaurant we turned in the driveway to Staples to pick up a few badly needed supplies. That’s when Kathy noticed that they were having a sale on office chairs and she has been disgusted by the condition of my old office chair. We went through a number of choices like Goldilocks and the three Bears before finding the perfect chair for both of us. Unfortunately that store only had one in stock. Armed with the Skew Number we traveled to the east end store where they had two in stock.

This was good but it was also a problem because we had the car and two office chairs would not fit. Kathy held down the fort (actually sat on the chairs) while I drove back to the apartment to get the truck. I was gone for over a half hour for a ten minute trip because for some reason there were a number of traffic lights all flashing red. With all the traffic treating those lights as four way stops things backed up pretty quickly.

It was after noon by the time we got back home. Kathy made us lunch while I assembled the chairs. After lunch Kathy cleaned her old chair and we delivered it to our daughter’s home. When we gave Tyler the desk as an early birthday present the other day he didn’t have a chair to use with it. The only one to see us in the house was Sanford standing outside wagging his tail.

We didn’t stay to visit because we had a 3:00 dentist appointment in Amherstburg. We were only fifteen minutes early by the time we got there. Within the hour we were both finished and good for another year.

We used another coupon to have supper at McDonalds where we both enjoyed their Sweet Chili Chicken Wraps. Leaving there we spent some time walking around the Amherstburg Walmart getting ideas for Christmas gifts for next year. That’s only 478 days away so it’s never too early to start planning ahead.

Since this was Wednesday evening we went to our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s for our weekly visit. They had really worried themselves sick because Cameron was starting High School this year all for nothing. Cameron is loving it. Even Matthew his brother is enjoying being back in school. As usual we had an enjoyable visit filled with laughter. We love those visits.

With only 114 days left before we leave for Florida I’d better get busy getting everything ready to go. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Here in BC, you do not have to worry about school buses on the road. Our teachers are on strike and there is no end in sight! Kids are enjoying a longer summer holiday....
    Cheers to you both!!
