Under Way and Second Coat.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We had another great night of sleeping with the windows open and not worrying about an alarm clock going off. We were both awake before 7:30 this morning but strangely we didn’t feel like we had been drugged like yesterday. Watching the Weather Channel as we ate breakfast we enjoyed the weather they were showing our area could expect over the next week. This will be better weather than we had through the most of the summer.

After breakfast was finished we both headed to the computers to catch up on our morning reading. Once our reading was complete I buckled down to write a letter to the Customer Service Department from where I purchased the Tele converter that would fit the Canon camera but not the Canon lens. I know that it has been four days since I spoke to the company representative on the phone but we have been busy.

Kathy was busying herself in the kitchen making a Mile High Apple Pie. Our daughter-in-law Melissa had given us some apples on Wednesday evening that the she and the boys had been picking last weekend. She claimed they had gathered too many and they would spoil. With two growing boys we found that hard to believe but Thank You Melissa they are appreciated and didn’t go to waste.
Lighting changes the effect.
Since there were two different types of apples Kathy was careful how she mixed them to balance out the taste. By the time she was putting the pie into the oven I had completed and printed my letter. For lunch we worked together to make a great tasting Salmon/Pasta Salad.
I like the way the sunlight changes the way finished wood looks.
Once the dishes were washed I headed over to the Post Office to register the Tele converter for a return trip to New York. When I returned I was able to set the tarp out on the balcony and start applying a second coat of stain to the cart for the trailer. Again the direct sunlight had me sweating up a storm and even the stain seemed to be steaming as I applied it to the wood. It did seem that the finish was darkening and that the wood was not as absorbent as it was yesterday.

While I was cooling down after I finished we spent a short time watching Dr. Oz getting health tips that neither of us knew about. Using those tips Kathy put together a very healthy and balanced meal for supper that was topped off by a piece of Apple pie and ice cream.

We’re still not sure what we will be doing tomorrow but we better get busy because the Weather Channel also showed a dramatic cool down coming our way in another week. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

You Might Be a Redneck If

Nobody has ever asked your wife for one of her recipes.

  1. I'm guessing that apple pie was not on Dr Oz's heath tip list... :cD

  2. No pie for us, thanks, not on our menu.
