Unbelievable, is the way I felt when I was going to Bed minutes after midnight, Dismay, was what I felt when only a couple hours later, my CPAP Mask seemed to be leaking at the hose. I thought it was the Coupler and replaced it with a spare, but it seemed to be blowing more Air into the pillow than I was breathing. With a spare Mask on my bedside table I tried switching the entire thing again only to have the same result. I finally headed to my Recliner, but the moment I turned that CPAP on, the Air was going everywhere but down my throat. Back in Bed, I tried sleeping without the use of my CPAP. The only thing that happened for the next couple of hours, was my eyes blinking on and off.
After getting less than Two Hours sleep, I finally started my day by 6:45, it was easier on my Neck and Shoulders. Expecting a knock on the door, I was just about to wake Kathy when she came out to join me. We settled for a breakfast snack before taking our Coffees to the Computers.
When I went to get dressed, I was able to check what happen to my CPAP Masks. The style I use is called a Full-Face Mask, covering both the mouth and nose. It's made of a hard plastic shell, that is connected to the soft Silicon Cushion, that seals against my face using the air coming from the Machine. Unfortunately, when they come apart at the seam, they are history. The Mask that I thought was a spare, was in fact another Mask that had split apart at the same seam. They both ended up in the Recycle Bin, and a New Mask will be put in service tonight.
John, the Building Maintenance Man had assured me yesterday that they would be around with an Electrician, to fix our Heating problem. After going downstairs at 1:00 to see if John was around, I came back to warm up some Chicken Noodle Soup for our lunch.
I reset the Kitchen Cabinets and locked the door after 5:00, before we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza for supper. I'll look for John tomorrow afternoon.
The "6 o'clock Local News" showed the temperatures will continue to hover around and below the Freezing Mark. We later watched the original "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen. Great memories and laughs. Now that Kathy has gone to Bed, I Plan on catching up on my sleep, holding her hand.
