Doing Doucettes, Visiting With Friends, Seeing The Blimp and Eating At The Grubstake.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

This morning I got my wish of getting up at a decent hour but unfortunately it wasn’t early enough to get any pictures of the Sunrise. We were finished having breakfast by 8:30 and enjoying our Coffee/Tea at the Computers soon after. I had to cut my reading time short due to having other things I needed to accomplish.

As I’ve mentioned in the past when I do up our Pill Doucettes I do them up for Forty-Five Days. It takes me the same amount of time to set up to do One Week’s Pills or for Six and A Half Weeks so this way actually saves time. Before I started doing this, it was guaranteed that every Saturday evening I was busy doing the Pills and Vitamins. Now it’s never the same day of the week and I can do it before lunch rather then in the evening when it’s harder to keep my eyes open. It took less then an Hour and a Half to do both Kathy’s and my Doucettes and record everything on the Spreadsheet used to monitor our medications.
Deb taking a group shot.
Lunch today was Leftovers! To most that sounds terrible but here we look forward to them because Kathy recreates them into a Tasty Meal. The other night we grilled Boneless Spareribs on the Weber. We both had more then enough to eat and there was Leftovers the size of a small roast. Yesterday we sliced enough meat to have a Sandwich that we shared with Chips. Today after slicing the rest of the meat Kathy slightly warmed it in the Fry Pan with Salsa Sauce and served it on Hamburger Buns. With more chips and Blackberry covered Yogurt it was a filling and tasty meal.

Since Kathy took the Mucinex-D before going to bed last night she felt much better today so we planned on going out this afternoon. While she was getting ready I called Amazon trying to find where our package was. If you remember I mentioned having our orders delivered to Quiet Times Greeting Card Shop here in Quartzsite. Most of those were delivered even before we ever stepped foot in the Store by using their On-Line address. That works perfectly if your package is sent by a Courier Service but not if it is sent by USPS. Today when Amazon tracked the package it was already on its way back to the seller thanks to the Quartzsite Post Office. I can’t understand why so many people we talk to have nothing good to say about this place.
Tom and Deb.
I was still upset when we stepped out but once the Truck was moving calmed right down. We saw that Dave and Cherylfrom Our View From Here were out exploring. We drove over to the far side of La Posa South and seeing that a car was home we stopped in for a short visit (Four-Hours) with Tom and Deb from Celebratingthe Dance. We had planned on staying only a couple of hours at most but when you seem to connect with someone the time just flies by. Tom and I talked shop while Deb and Kathy were comparing notes on things we’ve each done while RVing.
Shirley and Ken.
As we were talking, Ken and Shirley from SeeingAmerica with Ken and Shirley arrived from a few days in Yuma. The visit turned into Happy Hour and before we knew it stories were going around about a particular van conversion and the woman who was working on it.

Kathy spotted the Goodyear Blimp flying over Quartzsite. Normally it flies over when the Big Tent is up but it didn’t this year. Everyone was scrambling to get pictures when we noticed the Sun was starting to set. We all said our See You Later’s before heading off.

Since this was Friday Kathy wanted Fish and Chips so we headed towards Quartzsite where we saw the Big Tent is completely gone. Taco Mio was packed as was the VFW so we headed to Grubstake. The last time we were there it was an Hour wait just for a table but today we only had a Five-Minute wait. It was really crowded and with their small kitchen they were having a hard time keeping up with the orders but that was fine. This was our first time there this winter and it was as good as we remember.
Inside the Grubstake.
Back at La Posa South we had no problem finding our Trailer with the Solar String Lights on our Antenna Mast. The Amazon Seller asked for and got the Change of Address so now the package might arrive next week. Kathy’s taking another Mucinex-D before going to bed so hopefully she can finally get rid of her Congestion Problem. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Nice seeing you two yesterday afternoon. I understand how time flies when you meet people you like and the conversation flows! Gotta say your lunch looks delicious! Looks really crowded at Grubstake, but glad it worked out for you two. Too bad about the package, hope it works out this time!

  4. Tom and I are glad Kathy was finally feeling good enough to get out and about and you were able to stop by for a visit. We honestly did not know 4 hours had gone by it certainly was a nice visit and it was also nice to see Shirley and Ken pull up and join the group. Time does fly when you are having fun.
I have to say, knock on wood, except once we have been lucky getting things delivered here. We would be frustrated too if our packages kept getting sent back.

  5. Looks like a big party going on. Had to be fun. Amazing a big company like USPS can't get it right.

Grubstake looks like a great place to watch the Superbowl.

  6. Amazon delivery has gone downhill since using USPS, and had a backlog with UPS at Christmas. I've always given them an A+ all the way around, but I think they may have gotten too big for their pants. I still think they have very good Customer Service.

Kathy's leftovers look better than my fresh cooked meals. LOL

I'm glad you have friends to visit while traveling. I had looked forward to that if Rich had lived to retire.

Just stopped to say hello. Glad all seems well.
