Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
We surprised ourselves by
being in bed before midnight last night tucked under our toasty warm Bed Cover and Sheets. The problem with that is we were so toasty and
comfortable that we didn’t wake up until after 8:30 this morning.
It was cool enough that Kathy
enjoyed her hot cereal for breakfast to warm up with. The time at the Computers
was just long enough to drink our hot Coffee/Tea
and read our E-mails. After finishing
our inside chores, I made certain different items were in the Car as well as seeing that I had the
paint to finish the Bicycle Carrier.
By 11:00 we were headed
towards Windsor
with a more moderate list of Places
To Go and things To-Do then the
other day. The first stop was the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 on Howard Avenue. I’ve been planning to stop
there to pay my yearly dues since the beginning of September but we always seem
to be running late or we just weren’t in the neighbourhood. Having my Membership Card with me while traveling
in the US
allows us to use V.F.W. facilities. Ron
was happy to explain to me that our new Cards
are more durable and I’ll now be able to pay On-Line.
Traffic in Windsor was
really bumper to bumper today and all the Construction
Vehicles on the road made for even slower travel. It was past 12:30 by the
time we drove to East Side Mario’s for
Lunch. For one of our Merry Thanksmas Family Celebrations we received a Gift Card so we had the chance to enjoy
something other then Fast-Foods
while eating out. The Chicken Fettuccini
was delicious and because it was on the Lunch
Menu it was properly portioned.
We then stopped at Value Village on the east end of town as Kathy said my Levi Denim Jacket was looking a bit
worn. I thought this would be a total waste of time but when I went to the Men’s Section of the store there was a Levi Denim Jacket in just my size, priced
reasonably and it looked like it was hardly used. We spent a bit of time
looking around the Halloween Costumes
but passed as nothing seemed to appeal to us.
It was nearly 2:00 when we
were finally headed to Guardian Storage. Because this was Friday and
late into the afternoon we knew we’d be getting the last of this week’s Mail. We also drove back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. We had
some Supplies from our site that
cannot be frozen to leave behind as well as having to pick up other items that
we’ll be needing in the Desert this coming winter.
As mentioned on Tuesday
evening I managed to lose my set of Trailer
Keys from my Key Clip. Those are
the Keys that are needed when I’m using
the Car, Truck or our Bicycle and
rather then having my own duplicate set I just kept them separate on the Clip. We drove back to a few of the
locations that they might have fallen off but had no luck. We asked at the Service Desks of a few businesses
without luck as well. We’ll simply have to find the other keys to make not one
but two sets to avoid any future problems like this.
Back on Walker Road we stopped at the Second Value Village where again there was nothing appealing to us as
far as the Halloween Costumes went.
Our next stop was at Canadian Tire where a quick stop in the Automotive Section I was able to get what is needed to fix the Car.
We’ve notice a problem with
the Rotary Stand for our Spices so we drove over to Home Outfitters.
They carry every kitchen gadget you can imagine but not our present Rotary Stand which is where we bought
it in the first place.
Going next door to the Zehrs Super
Store we picked up the supplies
we’ll need to make our contribution for the upcoming Halloween Party at our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s next
weekend. We also picked up a few things to hold us over until we head south in
less than two weeks.
It was past 5:00 by the
time we left Zehrs
and we were stuck in Rush-Hour
Traffic. We were starting to feel hungry but neither of us wanted to cook
so we headed to the Michigan Diner in
Essex.
Since it was Friday we both ordered off the Seniors Menu and got Fish
and Chips with Onion Rings
rather then Fries. We were well satisfied
but not stuffed.
We drove over to the Home Hardware
Building Center looking for a Rotary Stand but had no luck. We were
surprised to see they are already selling Christmas Decorations.
It was past 7:00 by the
time we got back Home and managed to get everything unpacked and put away. There’s
still a lot to do before we leave so hopefully we get a lot of it finished
tomorrow. Thanks for
following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

In my area, the Christmas decorations come out along with Halloween. Anything to make an extra buck!!!
