Overdue Visit, Enjoyable Lunch and Another Fun Visit.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Even though we didn’t have the alarm set this morning I was awake by 6:30 and had to convince myself to fall back to sleep. I finally opened my eyes at 7:35 and thought long and hard whether I really wanted to get up. With the outside temperature feeling like 37 F (3 C) as soon as my feet were in my slippers and I had my housecoat on I headed to the kitchen to cycle the Furnace. The sound of the Blower Fan was all it took to wake Kathy but the trailer was already starting to warm up.

As per our morning routine after having breakfast at the Dining Table we finished drinking our Coffee/Tea while doing our morning reading on our Computers. Before 10:00 I went outside and pulled the second Empty Propane Tank from the trailer and loaded it in the truck. Thank Goodness, we have a third 30 lb. Propane Tank to see us through these cold times. We were soon on our way out towards Windsor using the Truck. We want to make certain the truck is running properly before our departure to the Southwest next week.

Our first stop was to Canadian Tire to return the Plastic Water Jug Spigot. Having been able to find Valves made of Brass that will do the job means we’ll never have to replace another one again. Since the package was still sealed they had no problem taking it back.

It was at this time we realized that we had left the Camera back at Home by our Computers. There would have only been a couple of pictures that didn’t involve Black Clouds and Rain so you aren’t missing anything.

Our next stop was at our good friend Kathie’s Apartment. We’ve only seen her twice this year and were surprised to see she was babysitting her granddaughter Kingsley. Kathie’s daughter Christine had to see her own family doctor today so she was more then happy to help out. We had a chance to sit and visit catching up on what Kathie has been up to. She is still having some difficult times Grieving as it’s not quite a year and a half since Ross passed away. If the phone rings and if Kathie doesn’t recognize the number she won’t answer it. Today, I gave her a list of all our Canadian and American phone numbers so she can program her phone and know it’s us calling.

Christine arrived just before noon and after speaking with her for a bit Kathy and I took Kathie out to lunch at the nearby Pizza Hut. Since the Rain had increased I dropped them close to the door before going to park. We lucked out by being able to take advantage of their Lunch Buffet. This gave us a chance to sample many of their different Pizzas and Salads at a reasonable price. We were fortunate that the Pizzas they put out were only Medium Sized and were cut small so we didn’t stuff ourselves.

After bringing the Truck close to the door to pick Kathie and Kathy up we went to the east-end Canadian Tire. Dropping them close to the door I went and parked near the Propane Fill Station before going back inside. At Canadian Tire you have to prepay a Set Price according to the size of Tank before they will fill it. If your tank is only half empty you still pay the Set Price. In the US you only pay for the amount of Propane that is put in your Tank. I was fortunate enough to be wearing my Raincoat but the attendant that was filling the tanks was only wearing a long-sleeved Shirt. By the time he finished filling my Two Tanks there were three other people waiting to get their Tanks filled.

I moved the Truck closer to the front door before going inside. I wanted to get new Wiper Blades for the Truck. At one time there was a Book available for you to get Stock Numbers but now they have small Tablets for that information. With my Raynaud’s Disease my hands were too cold to make the Tablets work. Even Kathy couldn’t get them to work but fortunately our friend Kathie had no problems. Kathy also picked up material to Winter Wrap our trees with before we leave.

Back at Kathie’s apartment the Hot Tea we had was much appreciated as it helped take the chill out of our bones. We continued our visit until after 4:30 before we said our Good Byes to Kathie as we won’t be seeing her until we get back in the spring but we will be calling her on the phone.

Since we weren’t going Home until much later we stopped at Wendy’s where we chose our supper from their Value Menu. Because we’d eaten Pizza for lunch it only took the smallest of their Burgers to satisfy our appetites for supper.

With this being Wednesday our next stop was in Amherstburg to visit our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa. It felt like old times driving from the east-end of Windsor on the Expressway to the Front Road getting us there as quickly as we do from McGregor which is only half the distance. We talked about this weekend’s Halloween Party without giving away what we’d be dressed as. We also had our usual fun filled visit with lots of laughter.

We said our good nights after 8:00 and when we got back Home we didn’t park on our site. Since we are expecting Mary from Healthy Heals in the morning we parked at one of our neighbour’s sites that have already closed up for the season so Mary can park on our site.

Our High Temperature for today was only 50 F (10 C) but we’ll be feeling like 30 F (-1 C) through the night. Looks like Fall is here. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. Another busy day but it sounds like a nice one visiting with a good friend and family. It was only 29 degrees when we got up this morning. Fall has definitely arrived.
