Our Location today is La Posa South
LTVA, Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.
After enjoying all the Fresh Air outside yesterday because of
the Seventy plus degree temperatures and more of the same when our Friends
joined us for our Evening Campfire we
struggled through the remainder of the evening to keep our eyes open. Kathy
snuck off to bed while I was still uploading our pictures and was fast asleep
before I joined her between the covers.
It was minutes after 7:00 MST when I forced myself from the comfortable
warmth of our Bedcovers knowing we
were losing two more of our neighbours this morning. I got everything ready for
breakfast, got dressed in street clothes, opened all the curtains and turned on
the Weather
Network. A look out the window and I didn’t see anyone outside so I checked
my E-mail.
That was when I heard an Engine Noise and looked over to see George and Suzie's RV and Car had disappeared from
their site. Looking out the Dining Room
Window I could see them slowly heading towards the Dumping Station before they hit the road. Their final destination
today will be around the Salton Sea in
California.
That was also around the
time Kathy was getting out of bed asking me if I drugged her water bottle. Fresh-Air should be Banned,
not only is it Addictive but it
makes you Sleep part of your life
away. Hearing that we had missed seeing our friends off on their next journey
Kathy immediately got dressed even before I finished getting breakfast on the
table.
We had our Cereal eaten and our Morning Medication taken and as we sat at
the table talking and having our Morning
Coffee/Tea we heard sounds from outside. A quick glance out the side window
showed that Mike and Dee were almost ready
to go. We couldn’t miss wishing Safe
Travels twice in a morning so we grabbed a sweater and almost ran out the
door.
Mike was in the final stages of Hooking Up the trailer to their truck but Dee
was gone. We don’t like disturbing anyone when they are hooking up
because if they forget to do something it could result in a Disaster Down the Road. Just then Gerry and Melinda came walking around the back of
the trailer with Dee who had been giving
Timmy his last walk before they hit the road. It was sometimes comical when we
were talking as it was as if Timmy was trying to talk to us. After Hugs and Final Pictures, they were soon on their way hoping for a short line
at the Dumping
Station before heading off
towards Salome.
We all went back to our
trailers where we got to finish our now cool cup of Coffee/Tea. Kathy needed to print some Bank Statements up so after I set the printer up I started to finish
my inside chores. That was when the printer started spitting out pages of print
from a Blog we follow but Kathy wasn’t
looking at it and wouldn’t have printed what was coming out either. That used
enough ink that I had to replace the Cartridge.
After restarting the printer up again it began spitting out the same material.
I first pulled the power from the Printer
than had to Delete it from Kathy’s
computer before she could print what she wanted to and not what the Printer had decided to do. Kathy said “The Printer is Possessed”.
It was lunch time by then
so we settled in for a bowl of Chicken
Noodle Soup. It wasn’t much but we were quite Satisfied.
Since it had been nine days
that we had been sitting here comfortably it was time for me to dump our Trailer Tanks but since we aren’t
leaving just yet I had to use our Blue
Boy. I started practicing a technique when we had our Avalanche Fifth Wheel on how to Flush Our Black Tanks by using the Waste Grey Water. Using a clear Forty-Five Degree Elbow at the Discharge
Waste Pipe I can see how the tank is draining. When you Drain the Black Tank the first thing to
go is all the Liquid sometimes
leaving quite a pile behind. If this is not cleaned out it could eventually harden
and plug the tank. On the Elbow, I also
use a Twist-On Gate Valve so once I completely
drain our Black Tank I Shut the Gate Valve and open a Grey Water Valve that then Floods the Black Tank by using this waste water. When the tanks are Equalized I Shut the Grey Waste Valve
and Open the Gate Valve until it is
completely drained. The Process is repeated until there is no more Grey Waste Water to use and each time
you see more Black Tank Waste being
discharged.
Dee, Mike and Timmy off to their next Adventure. |
Today the Black Tank got quite a cleaning. We
have been careful not to over use our Fresh
Water. We have learned tricks to Recycle
Our Water as well but after only Nine
Days I hauled Two Twenty-Five Gallon loads to the Blue-Boy
Dumping Station and there was
still more Grey Water that I left
since we’ll be leaving here next Monday or sooner. In the meantime, we’ll try
harder to minimize our Water Usage.
After I got cleaned up
Kathy and I walked over to Gerry and Melinda’s Trailer at 3:00 for Happy
Hour. We had a great time exchanging life experiences and they also passed
on some tips they use to cut down on Waste
Water. When you are in an RV Park hooked
up to Full Utilities you don’t
realize how much water is used on a daily basis. When you are Boondocking you learn to be Conservative or it takes more Work to clean it up. Tucker got in a
few appearances but after a few pets he’d go back in his tent to help cool
himself down in the Shade.
Just before 5:00 we headed
back Home where
I Grilled a couple of Foil Wrapped Potatoes and a Large Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast that
we shared. Kathy also made a nice Mixed
Bean Salad as a side.
Even though we are relaxing
we still have lots to get done before we hit the road again. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

You think an iPad is a feminine product.
Time together and time with friends, sounds like a well spent day.
ReplyDeleteWe like an early start, so waited until 8 am to pull out, no line up at the dump station, and we were on our way. It was a fun time there in Q as usual.
ReplyDeleteDuring our many years of cruising I always dreaded saying goodbye to friends. But we were so overjoyed meeting up again, sometimes months or even years later unexpectedly in other parts of the world. It felt like coming home. Thankfully, nowadays we have the Internet ;-)
ReplyDeleteKeep having fun, all the best!
It is sometimes sad to say goodbye but usually there is always another winter to meet up again and then it is a fun reunion!
ReplyDeleteI think saying "see ya down the road" sounds so much better than bye but both bring a sadness. The friends you make full-timing are priceless!! You have some quality friends there!!
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed our time in Q with a group of Ontarians. Fun times!!
