Our Location today is Deming, New Mexico,
U.S.A.
With last night’s temperature hitting 25 F (-5 C) we were
more than happy that we had left the Electric
Fireplace on. It is only strong enough to feel the heat when you are
sitting quite close but left on for a number of hours it helps to boost the
inside temperature of the trailer. Giving some credit to our quilted bedspread though
it is not too heavy it also helps keep our body heat contained.
With
Kathy still fighting her Sinus Infection
she does need more rest than I do. This gives me more time to open the window
shades in the living area, get things ready for breakfast and even get some
morning reading done by the time she comes downstairs. If she tends to sleep
too late and I’m nearly finished my reading I can simply turn on the water
kettle and as soon as it clicks Kathy wakes up.
There
were a number of things that I needed to do on Kathy’s computer. When she is doing
research and she finds a useful site she hates to close from it because
sometimes it is nearly impossible to relocate it. My job was to create a
Shortcut on her Desktop. I’m no Computer Wizard and have had no training
whatsoever but I finally managed to get it done. Things that were easy to do
with Windows 7 and 8 seem to be much harder to do on Windows 10.
The
temperature was up to a balmy 45 F (7 C) by 10:00 MST when we stepped out to run a few errands. The first stop was
the True Value Hardware Store in Deming. I’d purchased some supplies
the other day for the purpose of running the Conduit under the trailer. Since I didn’t get a chance to do any
measuring before making the purchase the trick was to overestimate rather than
having to run back for more. After returning what I didn’t need I also needed
to pick up a few more things that I hadn’t considered before.
Our next
stop was back at the Tractor Supply Store to inquire if their Stock Delivery had included more of the Aluminium Angle Material like what I’d purchased the other day. A
more experience clerk informed me that that kind of stock was from a distributor
who came in once a month so my chances of having it before we leave the area are
zilch.
Arriving
at Walmart to get a few more groceries that weren’t
on the shopping list the other day we spotted the Blood Mobile. While Kathy went to start
her shopping, I went to get some information on when and where their next
location after the US Thanksgiving
would be. Their response was in December so I’ll be looking in Arizona.
Inside
Kathy had already gotten all the groceries but wanted to have another look
around the store for Christmas Gift ideas. She had something
special in mind for someone on our list but ended up buying something totally
unexpected for someone else’s Christmas Gift.
We
were Home by Noon
and Kathy wanted to make us Barbecue Chopped
Beef Sandwiches that she’d gotten the fixings for just a few days ago. It
only took a few minutes but they tasted really good served on Hamburger Buns with Potato Chips as a side.
After
eating I walked to the Office to check if any packages had
arrived for us. Sure enough the United
States Postal Service had delivered the Forgotten Solar Panel Cables. I also got more information about the
restaurant that we had gone in search of the other day. Turns out we’d driven
way past it. With the address and name of the restaurant in hand I was soon
back Home. Kathy was happy that we
could now check out another place to eat.
Checking
my package, it was in fact the Forgotten
Cables but where were the others? I’d looked inside the Solar Panel Boxes the other day and
they were not there. Going back online I used the E-mail Tracking Number to call Fed-Ex to try to find my Cables. There were
only three boxes shipped by the distributor and I had all three. The next call
was back to Renogy Solar in California.
Customer Service took all the information but since there was no one
working in the shipping department today she’ll be calling back on Monday.
Not in
the mood to crawl under the trailer at that time of day I started emptying the
basement. With our having only gotten our New Home just over two months
before we were to start our southern trip it was a mess. Things were being
packed away outside on the picnic table in the dark using only a flashlight the
night before we left. I was looking for tools to be able to use for many of my
electrical wiring jobs in the last few days. Thinking that I might have left
them on the floor of the basement I emptied it out. We use Clear Storage
Bins to organize things and they worked great in the Avalanche but I
hadn’t had the chance to reorganize them for this trailer. Somehow in a desperate
act to close things up that night my tools got packed away with the different extra
Filters we carry. That felt good to find them but that basement will be totally
organized before we go back to Canada.
The sun
was starting to set by the time I went in for supper. Kathy had made Macaroni
and Cheese along with Sliced Ham with Cranberry Sauce for
supper.
Wanting
to check the overnight temperatures on The Weather
Network I was shocked when this
message saying “This page has been struck by lightning” showed up. When I read it
to Kathy she thought that I was pulling her leg but when I showed it to her she
started laughing so hard she nearly fell out of her chair. I simply closed the
page and reopened it. It reconnected with Lightning Speed and the low
for tonight will be 28 F (-2C) with a high of 66 F (19 C)
tomorrow afternoon. Thanks
for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Just a suggestion...why not use the bookmark feature on the browser. You can very easily make a folder and put all sites related to one place in the folders.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA...I never saw that struck by lightning warning ever. What a hoot.
I have a new apprecation for your weather issues. It went down in the 30's here last night-in Nov-in FL!
