Our Location today is Lakeshore,
Ontario, Canada.
As soon as the blog was posted last night
Kathy was off to bed no longer able to keep her eyes open. Since I still felt
energized my goal was to finish editing the Wedding pictures that I shot a
couple weeks ago. Within the hour I finally had it all uploaded on a memory
stick and finally got to bed by 1:00. As typical on a Pretravel Night both of us managed to toss and turn only got about
half the night’s sleep that we needed.
Getting ready to start our Adventure. |
When the alarm went off at 7:30 we both
wanted to roll over for just a few minutes longer but we also knew that every
minute that we wasted in leaving would cut into our travel time. Once breakfast
was over we both had our chores to do, most were the same as we’d always done
with only a moderate variable that it was a different trailer.
Starting the journey. |
Kathy continued doing her final packing while
I went out too disconnect our utilities and dump our tanks. It is so much
easier with only the one sewer connection to work with. After hooking up the
truck and we were making the final checks the park staff were already coming
along blowing out the waterlines to shut down the park for the season.
All Gone, until next Spring. |
Making certain that we could safely maneuver
the tight corners Kathy went ahead and removed some illuminating markers that
some of the inconsiderate seasonals had planted right along the edge of the
asphalt and the grass on their site. As we pulled out of Wildwood Golf and RV Park at 10:15 the owners Val and Joe were at the office waving good bye and wishing us safe
travels.
Just arrived at Leisure Trailer Sales. |
Since it’s only been two months since we’ve
had our new Home there are a few bugs that had to be
taken care of at the dealers before we left so our first stop was Leisure Trailer Sales in Lakeshore. I have repeatedly
communicated some of these issues but when we arrived at 11:00 we had to
coordinate all the issues. They had previously told us we’d only be there for a
couple of hours but when we were told they wouldn’t be getting it finished
today we were disappointed. When Kathy reminded them that it was our Home we were issued a gate key for after hour entries.
With all the rushing we’ve been doing we
had to do we drove to Wendy’s at the Pickwick Plaza to have our lunch. When that was done, we walked across the street to
the Service Ontario building to raise the weigh rating on
the truck license before crossing the border. We drove around the corner to the
Supper Clean Laundromat where we had bedding, towels and clothes
that needed cleaning. Working together it took nearly two hours before we
headed off to Guardian Storage. We got our Mail for the final time until spring,
picked up a Thermal Blanket from our
Climate Controlled Storage Unit as
well as dropping off some containers on Freezable liguids. Since we still have
some driving to do here in Ontario we had to stop and add fuel to the truck.
It was after 5:00 by the time we stopped
at McDonalds to have supper and to use their free WiFi. Hopefully we’ll get everything
done before noon tomorrow and finally be able to honestly be “On The Road Again”.
Leaving McDonalds, we’ll be stopping at our
friend Kathie’s apartment for a final visit before next spring. We’ll also be Giving
her the Memory Stick with all her
daughter Christine’s wedding pictures.
