We Can See Clearly Now and Tornado Watch.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

It figures that because we didn’t want to sleep in this morning that is exactly what we did. The reason we slept late until 9:00 this morning was because neither of us slept very well at all. No we didn’t have any Caffeine last night. What we suspect was the salads we had for supper was overly soaked in Balsamic Vinegar and that gave us both a tummy ache on and off through the entire night.
Wind was driving the rain through the window seams.
We only had time for breakfast and to read our E-mails before getting ready to head out the door. We drove across Windsor to our Optometrist Dr. David Sippala for our annual eye exams. By the time we gave the receptionist our new OHIP card numbers we waited less than five minutes before we were called in. It’s been twenty-eight years that I have been dealing with him and have nothing but praise for the way he takes time to be certain everything is good. Both Kathy and I had no changes so we are good for another year.
Tyler (Blue #3)
We stopped at Taco Bell again this time having a Crunch Wrap Supreme and diet soda for lunch. By trying different things we know what satisfies us without overdoing it and avoiding the French fries also is helping us on our quest to lose some unwanted weight.

Our next stop was back at Canadian Tire where we returned the seat covers we’d purchased for the truck yesterday. What was advertised on the package by the manufacturer was not true and they could not be fastened properly to the front seats. We looked at other covers and took them to the service desk wanting to see what was inside the package before making the purchase. These covers we picked out had nice wide straps and fasteners that will really hold them in place. They came home with us.

Since it was past 1:00 and the weather was starting to look threatening I chose to do laundry today instead of tomorrow. With everything sorted and pretreated it was after 2:00 by the time I got there and had a choice of machines to use. After getting the washing going I returned to the apartment to take down the recycle that Kathy had gathered. It was so overcast by this point that Kathy had to turn the lights on inside the apartment to be able to read things.

One of the washers had failed to activate so I finally got it running while placing the other loads to dry. I returned to the apartment to read the blogs I’d missed this morning. The Weather Channel was declaring a Tornado Watch for our area.

When I went back downstairs to start folding the clothes I could see it was raining fairly strong outside. What I couldn’t see was the rain that was being driven so hard against our dining room window on the opposite side of the building that it was leaking between the windows. Kathy managed to control it and take pictures as well.

Another female tenant was watching me fold our clothes and complimented me on the accuracy I was using to fold it so precisely especially for a man. She also asked if I could fold her clothes. Another person said I should be in the laundry business. I told them Kathy had taught me how to do the laundry and said I was a quick learner. By the time I’d returned to the apartment it was nearly 5:30 and Kathy had baked a thin crust pizza in the oven because of the rain. It was okay but didn’t have the taste it would have had on our Weber Q.

Shortly after seeing the 6 o’clock News weather forecast we left to go to the Forest Glade Arena. Our grandson Tyler was playing Lacrosse tonight.  That is a very brutal game and the only way to survive is you learn to give back what you get which is a lot of checking and hits with your stick. Tyler himself managed to score two unassisted goals for his team but the other team made somewhat of a rally late in the game and was able to tie the game at 4 to 4.

We hope the weather will improve for tomorrow so the things that didn’t get done today will get finished tomorrow. Here’s hoping! We’ve also already had our cup of Celestial Sleepy-time Tea so we can sleep tonight. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Looks like you are enjoying your time there with kids playing lacrosse. Meanwhile, getting caught up on appointments and the laundry is a good thing. Would like to see the folding - must be well done for others to comment...

  2. Congratulations to Tyler for his goal.

We had a terrible storm last night too. The winds were 60 mph. Yuck!
