Errand, Shopping and Lacrosse.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Being home less than a week it was difficult for Kathy to make an appointment with our regular hair stylist Jenna so she took what she could get. Unfortunately that meant that we had the first appointment of the day so when we woke up just after 8:00 this morning we had to get moving. After eating our breakfast we did have a few minutes to do some of our morning reading on the computers while finishing our coffees.
Tyler (Blue #3) running with the ball.
Since we are still finding more areas of the city roads under construction I chose to take the E.C. Row Expressway across town as a way of guaranteeing our arriving on time. As soon as the doors opened at Fantastic Sam’s we went inside and Kathy was the first to get her hair trimmed. Jenna acknowledged that her hair had been trimmed lopsided and needed to be rebalanced. Next when I sat in the chair she could see how my hair was growing over my ears and I was starting to develop a cowlick where my head laid on the pillow. As we paid our bill we were talking with a couple of women who had also just returned from wintering in the US with the same problem. We were walking out thirty-five minutes after we walked in feeling human again instead of like a couple of Shaggy Dogs.
Checking the ball carrier.
Having been away for four months we are now seeing a lot of changes in the area. The old Home Depot location near the Devonshire Mall that sat abandoned for years had been renovated and already has a couple of retail outlets opened. The one was the Jysk that had moved from a smaller location on Walker Road to this new site. We took our time exploring their new store that had a larger inventory then their old location. Since we are always on the lookout for new and unusual ideas we found some that helped Kathy scratch a few more Cxxxxxxxs gifts off her list today. The weather forecast for the area was for rain this evening but when we came out of the store the skies had already opened up.
Tyler (Center) running away with the ball but no score.
Since we were only a block away from Wendy’s Kathy suggested we have another half sized Salad there for our lunch. We are really working at losing some of that weight we found while away this winter. We just sat down to eat when the rain turned into a downpour outside. Glad we weren’t on the road.
Tyler shooting one of his goals.
At the apartment Kathy busied herself wrapping more gifts while I created another spreadsheet for her. I really must have been half asleep making it because when I printed a test page as soon as I showed Kathy she spotted a spelling mistake. We had soup for supper with tea. Then we watched the 6 o’clock News before we headed out the door at 6:35.
Being that this is Monday evening we were headed to the Forest Glade Arena to watch our grandson Tyler play Lacrosse. After the start of the game it took nearly ten minutes before the first goal was scored by the apposing team. Tyler’s team was playing with less than a full bench so it seemed they were tiring faster than their opponents but eventually started rallying back. The final score was 7 to 5 for Tyler’s team with Tyler scoring two goals and assisting on one. When he came out of the dressing room it looked like someone had poured a bucket of water on him.
A very wet Tyler.

It was drizzling when we left the arena and we’ve heard the sounds of distant thunder since we arrived home. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day at getting things ready for our next adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
