Double Delayed Birthday Celebration.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Last night was the second time that I used my new CPAP mask and it seems that I’m getting a bit more accustomed to it. Just like a new job it’s a pain while getting used to it.

Again there was more than ample standing water around the parking lot when we woke up this morning. Once breakfast was completed we took a short while to accomplish our morning reading on the computers before heading out to do some errands.

The first stop was up the street at Shoppers Drug Mart where Kathy found a special facial cream that also contained an SFP  60 and she was able to pay for it using a Gift Card we’d received at Christmas. We also needed to mail our 8840 forms to the US IRS because we’ll be exceeding the 182 day formula this year so we have to prove we earn no monies while visiting the country. That was accomplished at the in-store Post Office
Hard to believe Ashley's 21.
Our next stop was to Healthy Heals on Howard Avenue. Kathy has been trying to book her next appointment the last few days but nobody has returned her call. This is the first time she’s had this problem so we went straight to their location. The sign on the door said they were open until 3:00 but the lights inside were turned off and the door was locked. I’ll be calling on Tuesday as Monday is a holiday.

Our next stop was the Taco Bell parking lot on Tecumseh Road. I walked next door to the Credit Union to finish some banking that we had missed the other day. By the time I finished there it was past 12:30 so we went back to Taco Bell for our lunch again minus the fries. That seems to be helping our diets. After we had to drive to the other side of the parking lot to the Dollar Store to get more wrapping supplies for Kathy to use.
A Birthday Smooch.
It was close to 2:00 by the time we got back to the apartment. Kathy went back to wrapping up the last of the gifts we have here already.

Since it was no longer raining I started hauling the storage containers and tool box back to the truck. I also had to mechanically remove an electrically controlled fuel valve that had failed. Luckily when I originally set the system up I’d allowed for such a problem so I simply installed a straight filler pipe that will work off a manual valve already in the line. My list continued with installing the new front seat covers and extending the Static Strap Cables on the truck. Static Electricity in a vehicle is the major cause of car sickness, shocks when touching metal on the vehicle, fatigue after a long trip and drivers falling asleep at the wheel. A simple wire occasionally touching the ground will discharge that electricity and make travelling more comfortable.

Once we were cleaned up we went to the Metro Grocery Store to buy a birthday cake. We had been invited to diner by Karen and Greg to Moma’s to celebrate our granddaughter Ashley’s 21st birthday. Moma’s serves strictly burgers but with such a variety of condiments and sides all served with a half-pound of meat of your choice on a bun or in a lettuce wrap. These would be considered gourmet to the extreme.

We all returned to Karen and Greg’s afterwards to continue this special celebration. Our granddaughter Ashley shares the same birthday as our grandfurkid Sanford and it has become a tradition that they take pictures together. After giving out gifts we all enjoyed a tasty piece of cake. I also had a chance to speak with Ashley’s boyfriend Mike who is already well qualified as a computer programmer but wants more as he pursues a career in computer videography. Wherever he goes he’ll be well qualified and in high demand for his skills.

There’s still a lot to do before we leave on Thursday so we’ll be busy until then. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  2. Ashley and Sanford look like they really enjoyed their birthday. I see big smiles on both their faces.
