Never Stop Being Busy.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

This morning I managed to sleep a little later than I expected to but since we really didn’t have anything planned I didn’t worry about it. Ten minutes later I had just started getting things ready for breakfast when Kathy came into the dining room thinking she had overslept. It was simple for us to feel that way because you could hear the wind blowing against the windows as the first s@#wflakes of winter were falling on the parking lot.

After watching the forecasts showing that the January weather we are presently experiencing will change to more moderate December temperatures in another week we headed for the computers. We spent most of the morning doing reading and then further researching. Kathy made a call and then was waiting for a confirmation about a package that should have been shipped to Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada only to find out it had been sent to Ontario, California. It seemed the shipper even though they had been told to spell Canada on the label still used the short form of Ca. thus sending it to the west coast instead of north of the 49th parallel. I received a call from Jim at Windsor Gas and Diesel telling me what parts had needed to be replaced and that it would be ready for pick up after lunch today.
Our view in exactly 6 weeks.
As soon as the lunch dishes were finished we were bundled up and out the door. Even though the temperature today reached just above the freezing mark with the cold wind it felt much colder.
Cold enough outside that even this fire looks inviting.
Our first stop was at VitalAire to pick up our CPAP supplies that are covered under our medical coverage every six months. Since both Kathy and I have Sleep Apnea this is a very worthwhile coverage for us. Next stop was to pick up the truck. The cost was not pretty but we know that the truck will safely make future trips that we have planned for it. Then we needed to stop at Kathy’s family doctor’s office to get her calcium pills and make another appointment for just before our departure in 6 weeks. We then drove across the street to have an oil change done on Kathy’s car getting it ready for this coming winter. Our last stop was at Canadian Tire where we picked up two new wiper blades for the truck and a quart of Tremclad rust proof metal paint for the trailer project that I made yesterday.
Our first dusting of the year.
By the time we got home we only had time enough to change our clothes and head back out the door. We were meeting our dear friends Bill and Vera for supper at Red Lobster for 5:00. As soon as we got on the road heading west the sky turned black and we thought for sure we were in for a heavy rainstorm but with the cool temperatures and the cold wind what started hitting the windshield was more of a white color. Arriving at our destination early we tried watching to see our friends arrive but the wipers just weren’t doing the job. I actually had to get out and brush the car off so we could see out the windows.

Vera and Bill arrived with time to spare but Vera was a nervous wreck having just driven through this wintery weather. After placing our orders the conversation never stopped for the next three hours and yet it was still hard to say our good byes when it was time to go.

Tomorrow won’t be as busy as today but it will still keep us busy getting things accomplished. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
