As mentioned in last night’s Blog we were up shortly after 6:00 this morning and as soon as we were dressed we were out the door. Our destination was the Zehr’s grocery store for their Seniors only shopping. There were already people lined up according to Social Distancing even before the Sun had came up.
When the doors finally open we worked as the team that we are getting what was written on our List. We managed to get almost everything before making our way to the Checkouts. Like most we were wearing our Gloves, Masks and staying behind the Six Foot Lines on the floor as a way to protect ourselves.

Another way the stores are trying to avoid any transfer of the Virus that they didn’t do last week was to not allow us to use our Environmentally Reusable Bags. They packed everything in Plastic Bags at no charge.

Before we had paid our bill there were announcements on the store public address asking non-senior shoppers to please leave the store until 8:00. There were a couple of Idiots walking around that just just didn’t care about keeping Seniors safe.
Since it was the Third Time we were unable to get some things on our Shopping List we went up the road to the nearby Food Basics grocery store. It was 7:45 when we arrived and had to wait outside as they were limiting how many people were allowed in the store at once. Even though a single person came out the Security Guard allowed us in as a couple. They had the few things we were missing. Their Checkout Lines were different causing some people to think they could cut in the lines. Staff redirected them as to where to stand.

Back at the Apartment we had everything put away by 9:00 before finally sit down to have a Muffin for breakfast. We discussed what we would do with the rest of our day before checking things out on our Computers. Kathy needed a Snap to make up for the lack of sleep she had this morning.
Since we were having an early lunch we had Chicken Noodle Soup with Grapes, a Mini Boston Creme Donut and a Yogurt Cup for dessert.
We arrived at Guardian Storage by 1:00 first checking the Trailer to be certain the birds were no longer making a nest in the Pinbox. After reinstalling the Fifth Wheel Hitch in the Truck we started moving things around inside our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. We also chose to bring a few things back to the Apartment.

We had planned on adding a shelf from our Storage Unit into our Storage Room. Even though we had measured before there was no way to make it work. Guess it will be going back to the Unit.
For supper we dressed up a Medium Store Bought Hawaiian Pizza. While it was cooking in the oven we got some reading done on our Computers. We worked hard enough at the Storage Unit today Kathy had no problem eating.

After watching the 6 o’clock Local News we watched a few minutes about the Coronavirus on another channel before catching the last half of the movie “St Andres” starring Wayne Johnson. We then topped the night off with a Hallmark Movie.

Since it is supposed to be another nice weather day tomorrow we should be finding something to do outside of the Apartment. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. I do not know why there always have to be some knuckleheads in the crowd...what part of "senior shopping hour" do they not understand?

Glad you were able to get all the things on your list.

  2. Glad you had a productive day.. I see a lumber yard trip for some wood to sort that shelf out...

  3. Stay safe guys, too bad the shelf didn't work out for you.

  4. I've never seen so many "kids" going in with their elderly parents to get food in one cart while they filled an entire second cart for themselves.

  5. So many things are on hold right now. I guess even simple things such as getting material for a shelf will be difficult as the stores are closed and only online ordering and pick up are available. Saw a notice that Leisure Trailer Sales in Tecumseh are closing today too. Are you going to eliminate your storage unit as I notice you are clearing things out?

  6. Wow doesn't sound like fun going shopping for sure. Sounds like you should be able to downsize your unit maybe?

  7. You are fortunate that they let both of you in together, many stores now are only allowing one person per family into the store to shop.

Bonus for me today, I got to comment :)
