Last Hot Day and Great Tasting Lunch.

Our Location today is at McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

It Rained again throughout the night which helped us to sleep. I didn’t wake until nearly 8:00 this morning. After getting things ready for breakfast and turning on the Computer, The Weather Network only confirmed that we would be getting the same 108 F (42 C) Humidex today. It was only minutes later that Kathy came downstairs.

Bringing our Coffee/Tea over to the Computers we were busy catching up on our reading when the phone rang. Jim from Windsor Gas and Diesel was calling to say the Truck was ready to go. It turned out to be a Corroded Terminal on the back of the Alternator. The Electronics that kept shutting down were designed to do so in order to prevent being damaged and the reason the Error Number kept going up was while the Server was protecting itself and shutting down another Computer was registering that as an Error each time. Better at Home then on the road and it only took Two Hours to fix so it didn’t break the bank. As I’ve written before, Jim is an Honest Mechanic and will not tell you that you need to replace something if you don’t and he’ll find the problem and fix it. We’ll pick it up later this week.

We worked together cleaning up Vegetables from the Fridge so they would not go to waste. Kathy cleaned up the Portobello Mushrooms we got yesterday while she had me chopping up Kielbasa, Celery, Onions, Red Peppers and Tomatoes that I put directly in the frying pan. After rendering it all down she stuffed the Mushrooms with this stuffing then added shredded Cheddar Cheese. Four and a Half Minutes in the Microwave and everything was done to perfection.

The one problem is Portobello Mushrooms and Cheese hold their heat so after a few burnt feelers we still enjoyed this tasty meal. Since it was mostly Vegetables it was all healthy and non-fattening. With the Blackberry Covered Yogurts for dessert we were as stuffed as the Mushrooms had been.

Thankfully this was the last day with these excessive temperatures but we needed something to do other than being on the Computers some of the day & reading. We watched the movie “Ripple Effect” with Forest Whitaker. It showed how things in the past help change things to come.

With plenty more time on our hands we also watched “Analyze That” with Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal. It was just as funny as their first movie together and the Good Guys won.

For supper Kathy tried some Ready-Made Pulled Pork Pies that only took Two and a Half Minutes in the Microwave but the Instructions warn you to let it cool for Five Minutes before eating them. They were hot but we didn’t burn anymore feelers today. They tasted good and will do in a pinch.

With all the Rain we got the last few days the grass is growing like crazy and there are other things needing to be done but tomorrow the temperature is going down to comfortable. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. You guys are watching interesting movies. Some I have never heard of before. If we meet up again, maybe we can do a swap/borrow exchange of DVDs so we have something to watch when there is nothing on TV. Hope Kathy's eye is getting better.
