Then There Was One, Another Farewell, Wind At Our Backs, Rocking Where We Are and A Disappearing Blog.

Our Location today is Walmart, in Kingman, Arizona, U.S.A.

It’s been quite a while but last night I had what we refer to as a Pretravel Night’s Sleep that kept waking me On and Off throughout the night thinking of things that I couldn’t do anything about until we would be hooking up. At 6:30 I just lay there trying to fall asleep but finally just gave up on that idea and got out of bed by 7:00.

I barely had things ready for Breakfast when Kathy joined me downstairs. There was no wasting time and the only thing we looked at on the Computer was the Weather Forecast for our planned travel route. While Kathy did the Dishes and readied the Kitchen for travel I went upstairs to close up our CPAPs and make the bed. By that time we were able to finish drinking our now cooled Coffees.
Looking back at Steve and Diane's RV.
Look closely and you will see the Stinger B far behind them.
Once my inside chores were completed I headed outside to get things ready out there. I raised our Wind-Deflector starting to lift our Jacks. By that time Kathy was bring her Travel-Bag to the Truck. Once we had our lights checked and our Leveling Boards picked up, it was time to wish our New Friends Steve and Diane from Living The Dream safe travels. We wish we could have spent more time getting to know them this year but that’s what we can do next winter. It was sad looking in the mirrors as we were pulling out of our BLM Spot seeing only One RV left from all those that attended the Rally. Driving west on Plomosa Road we could see Tom and Deb's RV (Celebrating the Dance) not far away but their Jeep was not there. Until next time folks.

We headed south on Arizona 95 to go to La Posa South LTVA with a number of things in mind. As we drove up the main road we could see a short lineup at the Dumping Stations. It looked like others were getting ready to hit the road as well. When that was finished we filled our Fresh Water Tank since most of this trip will involve Boondocking and Nature Breaks along the way.
Our friends Sue and Wayne.
When that was all finished we drove back into the area we have called Home for the last Two Winters to say our Farewells to our Friends Wayne and Sue from the state of Washington. When we arrived at their RV the Truck was gone and there was no response at the door so we wrote a note. Just as I was about to get back in our Truck we heard the sound of a Horn coming from the main road. It was their Truck and Wayne was waving. Our Farewell turned into an Hour of Thoughts and Plans for next winter.
Arizona 95 heading north towards Parker.
It was noon and 86 F (30 C) by the time we left La Posa South for the last time this winter. Kathy wanted to make some distance before stopping to have lunch so we drove up Arizona 95 to Parker where we stopped at Taco Bell at 1:00 for our lunch.
Another Canadian stopped for lunch.
We were back on the road shortly after 1:30 and only had to stop for one Traffic Light going through Lake Havasu. Trying to see what was around, I nearly missed the Eastbound Ramp onto I-40.
Walmart in Parker was filled with RVs today as well.
It was 3:00 in the afternoon and 52 F (11 C) when we arrived at the Walmart in Kingman. Getting out of the Truck the Wind nearly blew us over. After getting a few supplies and getting permission to stay the night we headed back to the Trailer to put things away and put longer pants on. We walked over to a nearby restaurant to have supper. On the way back we were facing the Wind and Kathy had to stop a few times to catch her breathe.

The Wind was hitting the Trailer broadside now and the rocking was making Kathy feel Seasick. We have never done this before but I went outside and put our blocks out and lowered the Landing Gear. It was still just as bad so I put out the other blocks and lowered the Rear Jacks again with no effect. I had to lift the jacks slightly and tighten the Stabilizers to make the Trailer finally stop rocking.

When we turned on our Computers tonight they not only struggled to get On-Line but I was having issues just getting into My Documents. Filling in our Tow Log on Excel showed we only traveled 153.4 miles but the day was long. I had a detailed Blog of todays events written and was in the process of adding the Title when it disappeared. No matter what I did to bring it up today’s Blog was Gone. So here is the Second Version of today’s happenings

This nasty Wind we are getting looks like it will hang around for a while but for us it’s a Tailwind so we’ll take our time and continue in the direction of Home. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  3. Isn't it always sad to say goodbye to friends when you don't know when you will see them again? As you make your way further up north, enjoy all the scenery, we are looking forward to some pictures.

  4. The distance isn't important so much as that you arrived safely at your destination. Now you've said your goodbyes, did what you wanted or needed to do, getting on the road will be easier each time.

    Safe travels.
