Making Tracks While Biding Our Time Weather Watching.

Our Location today is at Sullivan, Missouri, U.S.A.

Before I even finished writing the Blog last night Kathy was sound asleep in bed and didn’t wake until she heard me moving around the kitchen this morning. I had set the alarm for 7:30 but when I woke before 7:00 thought that would be the perfect time to pack away the Computers before we ate. I did take a quick look at The Weather Network to see what our travel conditions would be. With the Computers away, I simply ignited the Stove to start making our morning Coffee/Tea as a way of waking Kathy who claimed to have slept the entire night like a rock.
This picture was taken yesterday. Notice the mostly Sunny Skies.
By the time we ate breakfast, packed up the Trailer, drained and disconnected the Utilities we were still on the road shortly after 9:00. You could tell it was Friday as the traffic flowed consistently with no slowdowns until someone was driving just a bit too fast and got nailed by one of the many Radar Traps set up along the way.
Today we never saw the Sun.
Not really sure how far we’d be driving today we need to take a break so we stopped at a Flying J at 11:30 that had a Wendy’s outlet. After fueling the Truck at the RV Islands, we had to drive to the back to park with the Semis because even though it was advertised there was no place to park RVs. We haven’t been to Wendy’s since we left home in November so this was a treat.
Missouri has Welcome Centers all over the state.
Back on I-44 we started experiencing the hillier section of Missouri but the Truck performed perfectly. Almost as if on a schedule the Rain started coming down just enough to run the wipers intermittently around 1:00 CDT.
Clouds stayed with us all day.
We continued driving until we reached St. Cloud where we stopped to top off our Fuel again. Our plan was to drive to the east side of Saint Louis so we didn’t want to have to find a station along the way in town. We were barely back on the road when the Rain started coming down in torrents. As soon as we saw the sign for Cracker Barrel we exited I-44.

After finding a spot to park behind the Cracker Barrel building along a curb, (we don’t fit in their RV Parking Spots) we sat for a few minutes until the Rain eased up. Since it is Friday we both enjoyed one of their Fish Meals for supper. Kathy likes their Trout while I enjoy their Spicy Catfish.
I'm still amazed how Trees grow in the rock like that.
It was just about 5:00 CDT when we came out and since it was still drizzling with a slight breeze we decided to spend the night. We only drove 226.4 Miles today but we don’t want to burn ourselves out and we also have to watch the Winter-Like Weather ahead.
Hopefully this will be all we see tomorrow.
Hopefully we’ll be on the road earlier in the morning so we won’t have any problems on our trip tomorrow. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
