Clay Issue Resolved, Being A Few Bricks Short Of A Load and More Cable Issues.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

It felt wonderful sleeping with the windows open last night listening to the sound of Car Alarms going off, Late Night Partiers expressing their opinions so everyone could hear and then the early morning Motorcylces with the loud mufflers taking their riders off to their jobs. The saving grace was listening to our Avian Friends as they welcomed the Sun’s warming rays as they filled the Sky.

While we had breakfast we reviewed the list of errands that we needed to take care of today. The moment that we finished our Coffee/Tea while we were getting our morning reading done on our Computers we were heading out the door.
Notice the Golfers in the background.
Because both Joe and Val (The Park Owners) are away on a little R&R for two weeks we’ve had an issue with getting rid of the Clay that we removed to plant some trees on our new site. It seemed that none of the workers wanted to make a call that might get them in trouble. As we headed out of the gate this morning we stopped at the office where Darlene immediately called the Head Grounds Keeper Greg about the issue. Within minutes we were following him back into the park where he had me back the truck up next to a “Tee Box” that is being expanded to dump the Clay. The spot I was dumping the half yard of Clay was about a hundred feet from our site and was only in the beginning stages of its development. We even stopped back at our site to leave the tools and tarp back in the shed before leaving.
A new "Tee Box" under construction.
We were once again on our way out of the gate headed towards Windsor with our list of errands. The first stop was at Home Depot where we needed to pick up the bricks we needed to finish edging the Fairy Garden. Kathy had a laugh when I stressed we were “A few Bricks shy of a Load.”

While still in the same parking lot we went to Dollarama where we got more Solar Lights for our Gardens as well as another small decoration.

As we were leaving an urgent call from Mother Nature had us looking for a washroom so we ended up at Burger King. Since this was also Whopper Wednesday as a way of saying “Thank You” we indulged ourselves with an early lunch by having the Two Whopper Meals for $10.00. It was more then filling and it even tasted good.

We then drove to Guardian Storage where we gathered our Mail then swung back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to get some Gifts that will have to be wrapped and delivered earlier then they were supposed to have been. Since the inside temperature was at 68 F (20 C) it took some arm twisting to get Kathy to go back out in the 82 F (28 C) heat.

Since Kathy found a cheque in the mail we had to add a stop at the Motor City Credit Union to do some banking.

We then went over to Windsor Gas and Diesel to settle our bill with Jim. When we picked the truck up last week he hadn’t gotten the bill ready yet and was heading to Ottawa with his wife to celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday Celebration. They spent more time looking in the Museums because it was raining most of the time they were there.

We then drove to Cakes ETC on Seminole to pick up the Rice Paper Transfer for our son Kevin. He has been doing some cake decorating for mostly Family Members but was asked to do one for a special Friend. Since Kathy and I are both Certified Cake Decorators we’ve advised him how to do some things but he has also researched a lot of other things On-Line and is very good. Due to his having Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis in his hands some more complex designs are too much of a challenge for him so this Edible Rice Paper Transfer will help him achieve his goal.

Since we’ve only fueled our truck once since our return from the Southwest this spring a stop at the Pioneer gas station was in order.

With our food stocks also getting low we stopped at the Zehrs Super Store for groceries. With the long weekend behind them there were all kinds of bargains on the shelves of which we only took advantage of a few. People that are Fulltime RVers realize that you don’t have the space to buy bulk as many Homeowners or Apartment Dwellers are able to do.

It was after 4:00 when we finally got Home and started getting the truck unloaded. With all that exertion and the Humidex feeling like 90 F (32 C) we had no other choice but to turn the A.C. back on. For our supper we grilled a Hawaiian Pizza on the Weber Q. It must have been the heat that killed our appetites but we still have leftovers for a later snack.

As we started watching the 6 o’clock News the broadcast kept cutting out. Unlike the other night this evening it affected all the stations. Since our Television is connected to Cable like our Internet guess what else went out. Like Kathy said if there was competition available in the area we’d be switching. Everything started working properly around 9:00. With a visitor coming on Friday we’ll spend tomorrow getting things fine tuned. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
