Making Repairs, Exciting Game and Nature’s Show.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

With all the walking we did yesterday out in all that fresh air while looking at trailers neither of us had any problems sleeping last night. We did seem to have a problem opening our eyes this morning but we finally got things going and after breakfast made it to our computers. A couple of comments showed first surprise and then caution about our looking at a different trailer. Unfortunately, if we were to wait until next spring to trade in our trailer we wouldn’t get as much for it and the RV dealers tend to raise their prices at that time of year. There is nothing written in stone but if it happens before we leave I could work on it while we are away.
This is the third time I've needed to replace the drawer glides on this couch.
Homemade Chicken Stir Fry.
Getting back to the trailer we presently have there were repairs that I needed to do which is a constant with RVs. So my focus was to get as many of those finished before we leave for the Southwest. While Kathy was busy cleaning out the fridge making certain that nothing would spoil she managed to get her finger too close to the knife. Even after patching herself up she still managed to make a wonderful Chicken Stir Fry for lunch and start the broth for an upcoming pot of homemade soup.
This afternoon we gathered a number of things that needed to be taken out of the trailer such as our carpet shampooing machine and the special papers brought from the storage unit for special projects. There was also some rearranging done outside in our shed.
Melissa in Pink Top and Matthew in Gold uniform just arriving.
National Anthem being played before the start of the game.
This evening we headed to Guardian Storage where we first checked for mail and then back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. A few but not all of the things taken from the trailer had to be returned to storage but we also had to do some shopping for things that needed to be returned to the trailer. Even though the outside temperature was much more comfortable today we really appreciated the fact that we were working inside of an Air Conditioned building.
Matthew having just centered the ball.
The last couple of years we have followed our grandson Matthew when he plays soccer. Unfortunately, due to our becoming Fulltimers and the mixed up scheduling of his games we have missed every game so far this season. Tonight was the charity game and we made certain we didn’t have anything else going on. The game took place at the University of Windsor Sports Field just off Huron Church Road. Kathy and I were there with time to spare so we took our time climbing to the top of the three story structure then back down to the bleacher seats where we could see the entire field quite clearly. (Not the best thing for Kathy to be doing.) It would be a while before Melissa and Matthew arrived but we’d managed to save a seat for her to sit by us.
Matthew trying to steal the ball.
Can you see the four faces?
The game started at 8:00 and the action never stopped with the ball constantly being moved from one end of the field to the other.
Keeping up with the ball.
During the halftime break the setting sun put on a fantastic light show for us, one that many in the crowd were just in awe over. When the action on the field resumed an occasional look around showed some people still pointing to the sky while the plays were being made at the opposite end of the field.
Go get him Matthew.
The few goals that were scored were enough to end the game in a tie. With a shootout as a tiebreaker Matthew’s team moved ahead by two additional goals. Even though Matthew didn’t make the actual goal he was instrumental in helping to line the play up for it. We said our good nights to Melissa while they were presenting end of the season awards to the teams.
Can't be on the field all the time.
On the drive Home we didn’t need the AC like we did when we left this evening in fact when we got in the door we actually were able to shut the AC in the trailer off. Hopefully that will give our electrical bill a break. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
