Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario,
Canada.
It felt
great waking up to the sun peeking around the edges of the bedroom drapery but
the brightness was not reflective of the outside temperatures. We had warmer
temperatures in the middle of February and now that it is spring the
forecasters are expecting flurries for this first weekend of April.
I’d
barely started getting things ready for breakfast when Kathy joined me in the
kitchen. We’d already planned our morning so that after getting dressed, staging
the bed, having lunch, washing the dishes we’d be out the door before 1:00 this
afternoon. That was the time the building management along with the local fire
department had started running regularly scheduled monthly Fire Drills and when the alarm goes off it doesn’t
shut until it is verified that it has been heard everywhere throughout the
building.
Yesterday
while we were at Walmart as we were
walking around we noticed that they carried a special kind of seat cover that
we have become accustomed to and at a fraction of the price that most hardware
stores sell them for. Our first stop was at Guardian
Storage where after checking for our mail we went to the trailer.
After opening the slides Kathy busied herself removing the original Bedcover
and Shams that came with the trailer. They’ll be cleaned and stored until
such time we come off the road and trade our trailer for a smaller unit. I
retrieved the last of the storage containers we didn’t get because it was a
miserable day and we didn’t open the slides. I also managed to get the
necessary measurements as to the seat sizing.
I dropped
Kathy at the door at Walmart and by the time
I’d parked and joined her in the hardware section she’d managed to get the last
two covers available. Before leaving we also picked up two more of the large
clear plastic storage bins to store the pillows and bedcover that have been
removed from the trailer.
From
there we headed to the Devonshire Mall
to walk around because there were two more tenant showings of our apartment
this afternoon. We took our time looking around for more early holiday gift ideas. We are lucky in a sense that
our youngest grandchild turns nine this year and is not really into toys in the
traditional sense. Also since we’ll be celebrating two Canadian Holidays together with our families we
get to look at it from a different perspective. With that in mind we walked
throughout the mall trying to make a few purchases only to find out that they
were out of stock. We were finally starting to make some progress just as our
legs and hips were giving us telltale signs that we are no longer used to
prolonged walks on hard surfaces. Since we had to walk through the food court
to get back to the car we had Chinese food for supper. That also gave us
someplace to sit and recuperate from all the walking.
Back at
the apartment building I packed everything into the clear plastic storage
containers which made it very easy for me to carry up the stairs. Hopefully
tomorrow we’ll get more things moved in an effort of reaching our goal of Fulltiming.
Thanks for following along and

It’s about time.

If you haven't tried the vacuum bags for storage, give them a try. You'll love them and use one fourth as many containers.
