The downsizing is moving along very well.
The two young men who bought our bedroom set had never moved
anything before and it took them a long time. Three loads later (they had a
short box pickup truck) plus they were definitely not prepared for the
job. They had no blankets to cover the
furniture and nothing to tie it down with.
But after two late nights and one entire day they got it all out and we
started to clean and organize in our bedroom to make it somewhat comfortable
for us. All our clothing is now in labeled bins and somewhat organized. We are using the bins with things in them
that are not immediately needed as side tables to hold our CPAP machines. Necessity is the mother of invention and it works pretty well. We bought
just a bed frame so we have the height of our bed the same as before making it
easier to get in and out of.
I started by cleaning out and packing up our small linen
closet. I also packed the curio cabinet. I had purged its contents some time ago so the
things in there were only what I will be keeping. Last night we emptied out our living room end
tables and the space under the TV. It
contained some photo albums, pictures and CD’s that we will be keeping. We did
purge some items from there as well.
We had four lamps to wrap and pack two from the bedroom and
two from the living room. We also have
two floor lamps that we still need to use while here one in the bedroom and one
in the living room so we can see in here when it is
dark but these will be easy to transport as they are.
That is what we have accomplished so far in between trying
to get well and back to normal. This
cold doesn’t want to leave but we keep at it.
Will update again as things progress.

Not sure what the kayak had to do with downsizing but if it's yours, don't forget to pack it and bring it along.
