Downsizing To Fulltime.

Many who have written to us have been asking for details of how we are downsizing before starting our Fulltiming Adventure.  We did a major downsize almost five years ago when we moved from our home on Hansen Street to this apartment. Now we must start downsizing all over again but this time it should be a lot easier.
The two reclining loveseats and rocker/recliner
that went our daughter's home.
When we finally came to our decision to Fulltime we were very happy with it. We decided that we would do so until our health or some other major obstacle forced us to stop.

The first thing we did was to purchase packing supplies not a lot but enough to get us started. The next step was deciding and agreeing on what to sell and what to pack. We have decided to sell our bedroom set as it is from the house and is too large even for our two bedroom apartment but it worked fine for us up to this time. If and when we decide to come off the road we would downsize to a one bedroom apartment so we would replace it with a smaller bedroom set.
Even the rolled up area rug is going to a new home.
We also decided to sell our upright freezer and a bunkbed ladder we had in the trailer that we never use. Our kids decided to take some living room furniture, exercise equipment, area carpet, and wine fridge. Our main packing will be dishes, clothing (mostly fall and winter), some linens, keepsakes and our dining room set. The biggest issue is using up the food and toiletry items that have been stockpiled as well as cleaning out our storage room and office.
Today our new loveseat was delivered
and will travel with us in our trailer.
When the holidays came up our downsizing mostly had to stop as we had 12 days of celebrations with both sides of the family. I have come down with a cold/flu type bug and I am now recuperating from it so once again I cannot proceed with packing. After I recover I will post periodically and let you know how things are going.

  1. I remember when we were downsizing for full timing. Most everything we had we sold. Kids only took a few things and we only had a few totes to store at our daughters and my brothers. It took some time but it went well. Doesn't look it will be long until you're ready to go. See you down the road.

  2. We've downsized twice. It was a lot the first time and even more the second time but no regrets. It's like a thorough cleaning.
