Managed Lots Of Changes Towards Fulltiming.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

This morning we were having breakfast by 8:00 and were quite surprise when we saw the landscaper who normally does the snow removal driving through the parking lot spreading salt. The problem with that was there was no snow or ice in the parking lot. When we checked the Weather Channel they reported there was a slim chance that we could see a very light flurry throughout the afternoon. Talk about getting a jump on things

After finishing breakfast we took time to do our morning reading on the computers before buckling down to do more packing and purging. Kathy found a couple of containers that were filled with wires for computers, stereos and telephones. My chore was to sort what might be needed and get rid of what was no longer needed. I ended up with only the smallest container keeping only what I knew would be used. The rest will be donated to Computers for Kids along with a number of other things I found.

Kathy had been busy packing all our cake decorating supplies from the Sideboard in the dining room. I finished my chore just on time to seal those boxes and load them on our utility cart. While Kathy made lunch I loaded the boxes and containers in the back seat of the truck. The cool wind was blowing hard enough that it chilled me to the bone. After lunch we wrapped a few more pieces of furniture with the saran wrap for protection before heading out.

Arriving at our Climate Controlled Storage Unit at Guardian Storage it didn’t take very long to unload the truck but there was something else that had to come out of the truck. Because I have built and installed storage boxes into the bed of the truck there is very little space to haul anything. That meant that I had to remove the fifth wheel hitch and temporarily store it inside the storage unit. This will now give us space to move larger pieces of furniture in the near future.

We drove out to LaSalle to our lawyers where we discussed changes to our wills. The last time we did that we still owned a home so it was definitely time for an update. On our way back to the storage yard we stopped at Canadian Tire where we found an identical clothing rack as the one I started assembling the other day. This will allow for Kathy and I to each have our own rack so we know it will hold all the clothes that will be kept on hangers.

Since we planned on spending more time at the storage yard we stopped at McDonalds where using a coupon we had a satisfying supper. One last stop at the Dollar Store to pick up some plastic drop sheets that we’ll use to protect boxes and containers from dust. Inside the Climate Controlled Storage Unit it was warm enough to assemble both the clothing racks within a short amount of time. From there we stopped at the Pioneer gas station where the truck was due for a fill up.

Tomorrow we are hoping to keep the momentum of purging STUFF and storing what we will keep. Lots of the things that are presently going into storage we’ll be using from there such as toiletries. If we need supplies the first place we’ll be shopping is our storage container. Our hope is that we will even downsize that during the time we are Fulltiming. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

The most precious thing we have is life.

Yet it has absolutely no trade-in value.

  1. It sounds like you two are really getting a lot accomplished. I hope Tom and I do as well when we get home this spring.

  2. Computers for Kids is an awesome group. What a great way to recycle equipment.
Paul used furniture dollies to put our boxes on in storage. If we needed something in a box that was in the back of the storage area, the dollies made it very easy to move the front boxes. Also, kept all the stuff off the floor just in case there was a leak. Just a thought.
