Cooking Together.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Last night as a thunderstorm raged outside our bedroom windows we both slept like a couple of logs. We even managed to sleep past 8:00 this morning before getting up for breakfast. Opening the curtains the sun shone in brightly and the only evidence of the storm were a couple of puddles in the parking lot. The Weather Network showed pictures of severe wind and tornadic damage that occurred in other areas of southern Ontario.

After going through our usual reading on the computers we moved to the kitchen. We worked together to create this evenings supper. While I chopped the vegetables and meat for the main dish Kathy was busy mixing up a Pineapple cake for dessert. Once the cake was in the oven Kathy started sautéing the main dish of her version of Pepper Steak which always melts in your mouth. I moved over to making the Icing for the cake that Kathy had in the oven. By that time Kathy had finished with the Pepper Steak and started blanching some tomatoes to make soup for our lunch.

Lunch was delicious and once we’d finished cleaning the dishes and kitchen we didn’t wait too long to head out the door. We drove over to the storage yard to transfer some things to the trailer. When we arrived we had to cautiously approach the trailer because the storm had left a miniature lake on the door side. While Kathy put a few things away inside I retrieved the Shop-Vac and some cleaning supplies I’ll need to clean the car and truck.

On our return trip we stopped at Value Village to drop off our clothing donations that helps to support numerous local charities. After making our donation we drove to the other side of the plaza where we spent a whole three dollars for some supplies that Kathy needed.

Back at the apartment we cleaned up the recycle and trash before starting to prepare our supper. While waiting for the rice to cook Kathy heated the Pepper Steak in the Microwave and served us each a piece of the Pineapple cake for dessert. I warmed the sauce on the stove and made us each a cup of tea. Supper turned out terrific and like I said before it melted in our mouths.

The weather forecasters are calling for more rain tonight. Kathy’s had a few glitches with Windows 10 but since it works closer to Windows 7 that Windows 8.1 I was able to coach her through it. Tomorrow the truck goes in the shop and I have to shine up the car because we’re taking it on a day trip on Wednesday. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
