Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.
Both Kathy and I managed to get a
decent night’s sleep last night and really didn’t feel like getting up at 8:00
this morning. Listening to the Weather Network as we ate breakfast we were
encouraged by the forecast they gave us for today a high of only 75 F (24 C)
with mostly sunny skies. After breakfast was over we did our usual morning
reading on the computers. While Kathy dressed I shaved and got ready for our
afternoon out.
As mentioned the other day our
niece Priscilla’s mother-in-law had lost her battle against Pancreatic Cancer.
Today was the Memorial Celebration of Diane’s life. Cremation had already taken
place but there was a huge display of her life in the form of pictures. The Ceremony
in the Chapel was brief and attended by family and close friends all of which
had fond memories of Diane. From there a short drive was taken to the Cemetery where
a final farewell was made and Diane’s ashes would be interned along with those
of her parents of which her own father had only been laid to rest not even
three months ago. There was a light luncheon put on shortly after where Kathy
and I visited briefly with others as well as our nieces and their families.
After a quick stop at the
apartment to change our clothes and a change of vehicles we were on our way to
Amherstburg for our weekly Wednesday evening visit with Kevin and Melissa. It was
comfortable enough outside this evening as we sat out in their screened in
porch. As typical Melissa had a few snacks to pass around in case we might be
hungry and the conversations always result in a lot of laughter and kidding
around. With our days being over an hour shorter than they were in June we knew
it was time to head for home when the sun set. Thanks for following along and
feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
