Busy Visiting.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

It was another great night for sleeping with the windows wide open yet I kept waking every hour only to turn over and go back to sleep. We slept until just after 8:00 this morning and had a very relaxed breakfast before going to read on the computers. Once I’d finished my reading I started typing up a list of the channels we now have on the cable television and a description of the type of programming on each. The only thing we had up to this time is the television guide we got by purchasing the newspaper and we needed to use a magnifying glass to be able to read it. I managed to get the list made and was half finished reviewing it with the guide on the television adding some channels that were missing to the list and removing the channels of foreign language services before Kathy started serving lunch.

Once lunch was finished we headed across town to Hotel Dieu Hospital to visit with our friends Vera and Bill. Bill had taken a spill a while back and bumped his head on a curb that later led to a loss of balance. Tests later showed he had bleeding on the brain. The first surgery was not successful in relieving the problem so the surgery was repeated. Unfortunately since the second operation Bill has lost the ability to see clearly and to speak in complete sentences. We learned that with daily therapy he is slowly regaining his motor skills. He was all smiles when we’d tease him and encourage him to making a full recovery. That might not be such an easy task for someone of Bill’s age. We also gave Vera some much needed encouragement dealing with their everyday lives by herself.

Our daughter Karen had called this morning inviting us for barbecued burgers for supper tonight. So after leaving the hospital we made a stop at the Metro Grocery Store to pick up a nice Black Forest Cake to bring as dessert. Leaving the grocery store we thought that we’d stop at our apartment before going over to Karen’s. We’d pulled into our parking lot before realizing we’d be home for less than ten minutes so we just kept driving out the other driveway.

When we arrived at their home we sat outside under their gazebo talking with Karen and Greg. Soon Kathy and Karen went inside while Greg started grilling the burgers and stuffed peppers on the Weber Charcoal Grill that he’d started earlier. It wasn’t long and everything was ready to eat. If you think grilling food makes it taste great you should taste it cooked on a charcoal grill. It is unbelievably delicious! The food the conversation and the company were all great. Looking outside and seeing the sky filling with dark storm clouds soon had us giving our thanks for supper and leaving for home.

We barely made inside before the rain started coming down with such force it could easily clean any dirt on the vehicles. Kathy had just finished taking an early shower when there was a crack of thunder so loud it made her come running out of the bedroom. To me it sounded like someone shooting off a gun right behind me. Tomorrow we have lots to get done. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
