Our Location today is Sevierville, Tennessee, USA.
We didn’t think that having a couple of travel days in a row
would be as tiring as it was but we are just finally starting to feel rested.
(Not that we’re getting older but more experienced at traveling.) Once again we
slept later than our norm but were a little shocked when we got out of bed. The
temperature overnight had dropped down near the 50 F (10 C) which was a drastic
change from what we’d gotten used to in Florida and had only it left behind a
couple of days ago.

Hank Williams Jr. |
While having breakfast we were delighted to see the sun
making its first appearance through the clouds in the last thirty-six hours. We
cheered it on hoping to encourage its presence but by the time we’d finished
our morning coffee the rain had returned to remind us that it was in charge. Of
all the times we have been to this area this is the most rain we’ve seen fall
in such a short period of time.

Kenny Rogers |
The only thing we could do was work on the computers and confirm
what our plans would be for the remainder of our stay here in Sevierville. Finally
around 1:00 in the afternoon the rain stopped but the sky remained cloud
covered for the rest of the day. Around 4:00 I grilled a store bought medium Meat
Lovers Pizza on the Weber that we’d also picked up at Walmart but added extra
cheese to make it perfect.

New Country Western Star Jason Aldean. |
As soon as we’d finished our meal and cleaned up we were out
the door heading into Pigeon Forge. Our destination was the Memories Theater where
starting at 7:00 we were entertained by none other than Elvis and Friends. Now
Kathy had seen the King himself when she was very young along with an aunt but
she was impressed by this Impersonator’s rendition of the star himself.
|
Patsy Kline |
Elvis’s friends included Hank Williams Jr., Kenny Rogers, Jason Aldean and Patsy Kline. They all did a great job and brought a lot of memories back from the songs of
our day. Most everyone in the audience will probably have leg cramps from all
the toe tapping and seat dancing that was done throughout the show.

Being that I don’t use a flash on the big camera just like
when we saw the Platters two years ago the entertainers would play up to the
camera. This allows me to get pictures that most people don’t get but that also
means that I tend to take more pictures than I should. At least after deleting
the bad ones I have my pick of the good to post here on the blog.

Grand Finale. |
It was nearly 11:00 by the time we got home and even though
we’d probably want to sleep-in in the morning we can’t. Tomorrow we are
supposed to have sunny skies and we have a morning adventure planned. Remember
I’ve said before the weather dictates what we get to do. Thanks for following
along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day. 50 degrees? I guess that would be a shock! Good for you not using a flash. I don't understand why people feel the need to use their flash, even in the daylight.
