Our Location today is Sevierville, Tennessee, USA.
Like many of us have said in the past “being an RVer our Plans
are written in Jello”. That is a good thing because the next thing we say is “that
sometimes the weather controls what we can do”. Yes Kathy had made Plans
that we were going to go for a ride in a Hot Air Balloon today. When we got up
this morning the clear skies were filled with cloudy showers so the planned
ride was scrapped.
So what should we do? Upon further research there were
alternate means of entertainment that were less expensive that were found. Unfortunately
they require nearly a full day to explore so by the time we’d figured that out
we had to make Plan
D.
Since the weather had finally cleared Plan D resulted in us jumping in
the truck with the plan on touring down the Strip in Pigeon Forge to see all
the Street Rods parked along the road. Imagine our surprise after travelling
five hundred feet on the Strip that we were now sitting in a mobile parking
lot. The traffic was bumper-to-bumper in all three lanes and the only way
anyone was moving was due to people exiting the madness.
In order to save our sanity we went to Plan E
and followed a couple of cars turning left at a traffic light. Surprisingly
this brought us into the Tanger Outlet Mall. All the times we have come
to Pigeon Forge we have never been here before. Finding a parking spot was
nearly impossible. We saw the Pigeon Forge Downtown Trolley dropping hordes of
people off and then taking on a fresh batch of riders. Those who had just
gotten off swarmed to parked vehicles that soon departed and gave us a spot to
park. People were here for the Street Rod Show and were parking at the mall
because they knew it would be impossible to park further up the Strip.
Since the sun was attempting to break through the clouds and
the temperature had reached 70 F (21 C) we thought this Plan F
would help us get some walking exercise in. We went through numerous clothing
stores and shoe stores actually trying to find things that have evaded us all
winter but again no luck. Finally going into XXXXXX store we hit paydirt. Any
time we are just walking Kathy is always looking for ideas for Cxxxxxmas gifts and if the price is right and the idea fits we get to
scratch those items off our list. Today was another good day.
We thought of checking a few more stores but when we came
outside the sky was losing some moisture. Since it was getting past supper time
Kathy went to check out a few last shops while I walked to the far end of the
mall to retrieve the truck. Kathy had no further luck but while getting the
truck I noted how close a certain restaurant that we had said we should try was
at the Mall.
The restaurant was called Joe’s Crab Shack and we figured we could get any kind of Seafood
there. Wrong! Their specialty was Crab, Lobster and Shrimp but they did have a
few side dishes just in case. When we specified Kathy’s Allergy to Shrimp they took special care to
prepare her food to guarantee that no Shrimp had come in contact with her food
or any of the dishes she was being served on. The food was great, the service
fantastic and the bill was reasonable.
Back at the trailer we re-examined the weather forecast for
tomorrow and we might luck out and accomplish both Plan B & C in one day. Thanks for following along and feel
free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

To bad you did not get to walkabout the car show, would have been nice to see some pics of the cars.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure we ever had to go to Plan F. Did the F stand for finally? hehe
