Our Location today is Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
After spending the last three days doing lots of walking it
finally caught up to Kathy. Not only did she sleep soundly but she even slept
late this morning. Because it’s a holiday she was entitled. I had already read
most of the morning blogs and had everything ready for breakfast by the time
she got up. Looking outside there were so many clouds in the sky you’d have
thought that we were in for a major storm any minute. By this afternoon we’d be
once again out basking under clear sunny skies.
Kathy had plans to cook a beautiful supper for us to
celebrate Easter just the two of us so while I was outside she started baking a
Cherry Cheesecake from scratch. Once that was completed she started doing her
bookkeeping entries on her Spreadsheet Ledger on the computer.
Yesterday I had prepared things outside so that I could
clean the outside of the trailer. Unfortunately we haven’t done that since late
last fall back at the storage yard where we store the trailer. Moving the
trailer through the bug infested heat of Florida the nose of the trailer has accumulated
a not so appealing number of bugs that have baked on. Using the Solution a
waterless cleaning formula I climbed near the top of our stepladder where I was
making slow progress. By the time Kathy called me for lunch I’d only managed to
change the appearance back to a dull white.
When I returned after eating I had again cleaned the nose
cone using the Solution finally getting all the bugs and debris off but the
shine just wasn’t there. Luckily I had the Orbital Simonize Buffing machine in
the basement. After applying the wax by hand I then used the machine to buff
the finish on the nose of the trailer. Because the sun was drying the wax so
quickly and it had been so long since I’d last waxed the trailer I had to
rebuff it a second time with a clean buffing pad. Now it looks the way it
should nice and shiny. Due to the intense heat we are experiencing right now
from the sun I’ll have to take the time to finish the rest of the trailer
before we reach home at the end of the month.
At 4:30 Kathy suggested I close up for the day and we go for
a walk on the docks surrounding this park. Heading towards the end of our loop
our walk ended at a fence to newly built condos. Turning our walk around and passing
the trailer in the opposite direction we ran into dogs that needed to have
their ears scratched and a three foot long Iguana that was sunning itself on
the dock near the rear of the park. Another thing we came across were quite a
few yachts that were about seventy feet or longer flying both American and foreign
flags connected to shore power. A few of those had rear hide-away storage areas
that were open containing Jet-Skis, Zodiacs and kayaks. Won’t try to imagine
the price tags on those things.
Back at the trailer I grilled some sliced ham on the Weber
while Kathy sautéed some Asparagus and micro-waved some corn on the cob. Kathy
had the ham and Asparagus plated just on time for the corn to finish cooking.
Within another minute I was squeezing the husk-free corn onto the plates. Everything
tasted delicious and the Cherry Cheese Cake for dessert was divine.
Again Kathy and I hope that everyone had an enjoyable
Easter. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe
and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
