Our Location today is Sevierville, Tennessee, USA.
In last night’s post I mentioned that even though we didn’t
have any definite plans made that we’d find something to do. With the cooler
weather and the heavy rains waking us in the middle of the night since we left
the state of Florida our bodies have adjusted by making us sleep later.
Many of our readers have said we start our shopping
too early and they don’t want to hear about it. Back in 2008 when the economy
was in the toilet and there weren’t too many smiling faces around our
neighborhood I made a decision. That for the next two years we would decorate
the outside of our home and put smiles on every one’s faces. When you have
carloads of people stopping to look and little children looking in awe you know
you did good. We gave it all away after selling our home and now we just look
at other people’s displays to enjoy the season. It’s just that we get asked for
ideas about many different things but this one will always be special to us.
We stopped at The Incredible Christmas Place to look at displays and different types of
lighting that we didn’t have back a few years ago. We even got a lot of
different Ideas
for indoor decorations. Stores like that can’t survive selling for only one
holiday so we also got to see things for Halloween and Easter as well. Kathy
and I were the only ones that walked out of that store empty handed today and
there was quite a crowd when we arrived.
Our next stop down the Strip was The Great Christmas Store. From the
outside this outlet seemed to have more outdoor decorations but when you
entered it didn’t. They also had a mixture of decorations for the different
holidays but they also carried a huge selection of pottery type chinaware and
linens. Between both stores we walked
away with many new Ideas to use.
These two were cooking up a storm. |
Back at the trailer I grilled a couple of small steaks while
Kathy baked a potato and made a salad for our lunch. It all tasted great and
after helping do the dishes I packed away the Weber for tomorrow’s travels.
We’re on the road tomorrow so Kathy was busy cooking up some
meals we’ll be able to enjoy by simply heating them up. I did the laundry so we
won’t have to worry about that as soon as we get home and I closed as much up
as I could outside the trailer because we were supposed to get rain tonight and
as I am writing this it just started.
There’s not supposed to be any rain for our travels tomorrow
but the forecast is calling for high winds and we all know what traveling in
high winds is like. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a
comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
