Rain, Rods, Runs.

Our Location today is Sevierville, Tennessee, USA.

After covering just over 630 miles on the road in the last two days we had no trouble sleeping last night. One thing that did seem strange when we first went to bed was the lack of road noise from all the loud vehicles passing the campground in Daytona Beach as well as the sound of idling trucks in the truck stop.

We were tired enough that we both slept past 8:00 this morning but looking out the window there was no sign of daylight anywhere. There was so much moisture in the air that we could barely see past the RVs on either side of our own unit.

With breakfast completed we chose to get totally caught up on all our online reading that we might have missed while on the road. It was cool and damp enough that we had soup and a hot cup of tea for our lunch.

In order to not have a bad case of Cabin Fever we drove down to Walmart. We used this as an indoor exercise track as well as picking up a few household items that we were running low on.

Instead of driving right back to the trailer we drove down the Strip through Pigeon Forge. The mist had eased a bit. This is the weekend for the Rod Run that takes place every year rain or shine. There were already hundreds of cars parked along the road in the private business parking lots. Many of those vehicles were covered with clear plastic sheets, blue tarps and then others were left out to face the elements. Of course trying to take pictures with the small camera while cruising down the strip in the drizzling rain would have been a waste of time.

Finally back at the trailer once everything had been put away we enjoyed some of the fried chicken we’d picked up at the Walmart Deli counter for supper. Kathy has continued to research things we can enjoy doing while we’re here so that we’ll have something of interest to talk about. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
