No Fooling!

Our Location today is Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.

By the time we went to bed last night we were both worn out more from the mental stress of getting here and setting up than anything else. Kathy hadn’t slept very well the night before so that also added to her tiredness. This morning she didn’t even remember going to bed she had been that tired. Another thing that didn’t help was having to move from the first site we’d parked on at this park that was made for a trailer the size we have to an area that was actually meant for smaller RVs period. We talked to a few neighbors this morning that complained of having difficulty getting their twenty-eight foot motorhome on their sites.

We slept with the windows and vents open last night and didn’t hear the Big City sounds once. It was after 8:00 by the time we were sitting at the table having our breakfast. Shortly after getting on the computers we were already noticing the warmer temperatures were building so we just turned the AC on.

We waited until we’d eaten lunch before going out for the afternoon. Our first stop was at the office to confirm the site that we’d relocated to yesterday when we had the electrical problems. As the name of the park Yacht Haven Park and Marina suggests some of its tenants don’t drive pickups when they come to get their mail so when we came out of the office to find a Ferrari parked in front of the truck it was no surprise.

Our next stop was at the closest Walmart around which was less than seven miles away. With being in Fort Lauderdale it took us nearly an hour to get there because all the major roads that you need to take. Since we couldn’t locate any Unisex hair shops in the area online we thought that we’d take the chance getting our hair trimmed at the in-store shop at Walmart. Kathy got the more experience hair stylist but the young woman that trimmed my hair must have just graduated from school. She insisted that she had to water down my hair and used an entire half liter spray bottle. Luckily she’d put a towel to catch the water that was actually running off my head. Maybe she was trying to water it down to make it grow.  Kathy had a chance to read a magazine before I was finished and I still had to trim my hair a bit more when I got back to the trailer.

We did some store walking before we picked up some extra groceries for the trailer. One of those things just happened to be a foot long submarine sandwich that we shared for supper. It had more meat and vegetables than anything we’ve ever gotten from a Subway.
Just before sunset out our rear window.
We did a few chores around the trailer this afternoon but overall it was a recovery day from yesterday. We saw a few RVers trying to pull April Fools jokes online today but we didn’t fall for them. Tomorrow we’ll be back on the adventure trail. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Oh boy...we have Fort Lauderdale on our list of places to see in the fall. We will be sure to have groceries and our hair cut before we arrive.

  2. When I hadn't heard of the Rv park you were going to, I expected it might be tight or a mobile home park. Glad you got into the site and settled and can enjoy the area a little. First Walmart in a while, huh?
