Cool Walking Visit.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We both managed to sleep later than what we expected to this morning. I was up around 7:30 this morning and Kathy slept for nearly another hour afterwards. What woke me up was the sunlight that was leaking into the bedroom above the drapes. When Kathy got up the other rooms were filled with light coming through the window blinds that I’d already opened.

We enjoyed our breakfast watching the Weather Channel telling us how our area today and tomorrow would have above normal temperatures for this time of year. They also said that starting Wednesday it would start cooling down into January like temperatures. At that point Kathy and I made plans to get out for a walk later after lunch.

We spent part of the morning checking E-mails and blogs before Kathy went to do some reading in the living room. Myself I changed into my exercise clothes and spent the next hour and a half getting myself back in shape. I recall going through this kind of thing over twenty years ago and managed to keep myself fit afterwards. After I was diagnosed with a Hernia two years ago I was told to not be doing abdominal workouts or lifting anything heavy. That’s when everything started going south. After surgery last year I was finally given the go ahead but take it easy. Having only done cycling and walking for nearly a year and a half it has been difficult getting back into a regular routine.

Following our lunch I first went outside to install the Third Brake Light on the truck that Kathy helped me find the other day at Canadian Tire. I also moved supplies from the truck to the car so I can accomplish some work at our son Kevin’s house on Wednesday while the truck is in the shop.

Since we’ll be bring our trailer home to load up on Christmas Day (45 days) Kathy and I both went outside to check the asphalt pad behind the parking lot where I’ll be able to turn the trailer around. Since two sets of eyes are better than one we searched for broken glass and sharp metal shards along with chunks of broken cement to protect our tires. We moved the cement into a pile by the edge of the asphalt and using plastic bucket lid hauled the metal and glass we found and gathered to the building’s recycle bins.

Now we wanted to go for a walk even though we were facing a cool easterly wind. Heading down Tecumseh road with no goal in mind we walked all the way to our daughter Karen’s house. Knowing this is one of her therapy days when we got there we figure she was resting so we simply sat on the chairs on her front porch. The next thing we know she comes outside to visit with us. We spent the next forty-five minutes visiting outside before we headed back home.

Since the temperature hit the high of the low 50’s today I fired up our Weber for what could be its last use at home to grill a couple of seasoned pork steaks for supper. Kathy made up a Spanish rice dish to go with it. Everything tasted great and we still have some rice left over for another meal. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
