Cooler Accomplishments.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Since the temperature was supposed to drop down to the freezing mark and we didn’t want to turn the heat on we slept with the window closed last night. Surprisingly we both slept in until after 8:00 this morning. There was plenty of frost on the car windows in the parking lot and you could see the frustration on the faces of those still having to go to work or school. Later in the day we would find out that even though the temperature had increased so had the Wind Chill.

After accomplishing our morning reading on the computers Kathy headed to the kitchen because she felt like cooking. I used the time to get my exercise that I didn’t do for the last couple of days accomplished.

Kathy made pulled chicken sandwiches and sautéed potatoes for lunch. She kept it healthy by reducing the portions. As soon as we’d eaten we washed the dishes before heading out the door.

Our first stop was at the Green Shield office so that Kathy could drop off her claim form for her Healthy Heals treatment she had yesterday. She’ll have the cheque for it in hand next week even though Tuesday is Remembrance Day.

The next stop was at Windsor Gas and Diesel to make the appointment to bring the truck in. Early last week when I had stopped in they were swamped with work and the owner Jim had asked if I could wait. The other night on our way home from our son’s as I entered our parking lot we could hear a hard squeal coming from the front left wheel. When I told that to Jim he suspected the piston in the brake caliper is seized. I’ll bring the truck in next Wednesday and not drive it until then.

Jim also told me that Don our favorite truck mechanic had resigned and moved back up to Souix Sainte Marie. That is where Don grew up and he had been talking of moving back there for the last few years. The only reason that he had moved down to Windsor was so that his wife could attend the University of Windsor. Now that she has graduated they had nothing holding them here and they went back home.

We stopped at the Metro grocery store for a few things that Kathy said we’d run out of. Back at the apartment while Kathy was busy putting the groceries away I went back outside to do a few quick repairs on the truck. When I came back inside Kathy already had supper cooking on the stove. We had Salmon with perogies for supper topped off with hot out of the oven Chocolate bread topped with Dutch Chocolate frozen Yogurt.

Tomorrow I’m hoping to cross a few things off my to-do list. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
