What’s This?

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

It truly felt good to sleep until 8:00 this morning. Having slept with the windows open kept us feeling cool but not cold with lots of fresh air for us to breath. After breakfast we spent most of the morning on the computers reading E-mails, blogs and doing more research on supplies that we eventually plan on buying for the trailer.
Grandson Tyler (#3) on Face-off.
Yesterday when we got home after spending the day at our son Kevin’s we found a package leaned against the apartment door. Everything was correct but there was no apartment number listed on the address tag. Chances are that it was stuffed into someone else’s mailbox and they used the downstairs security communicator to find our apartment number. By the time the truck was unloaded and we wrote the blog last night it was time to shower and hit the sack.

This morning I opened the package to find the long awaited addition to the camera setup that I’ve been waiting for. Back when I used 35mm film I had a 70 – 210mm Haminex zoom lens coupled to a Vivitar 2X Tele-converter. Combined this gave me a 140 – 420mm zoom that helped to capture sharp clear pictures of wildlife at a fraction of the cost than having another larger zoom lens and less weight to haul around.

The new Vivitar 2X-7 Element Tele-converter was carefully unwrapped before mounting it on the Canon camera body. However when it came to mounting the Canon lens to the Tele-converter nothing short of remanufacturing it would make it fit. As I was about to repack this equipment I thought that I’d try it on our other Canon camera with a Sigma lens. It went on flawlessly and worked like a charm. Strange how a Tele-converter made specifically for Canon cameras won’t work on a Canon lens which is what I want to mount on it. I’ll be making a phone call on Monday.
Breaking away with the puck.
Shortly past 1:00 this afternoon we were again on our way out to the new Belle River Arena. Again we were there to see our grandson Tyler play hockey. The other night was the season opener and that was why it was in the middle of the week. Also unlike the other night the game was played in Rink “C” which had far less seating available and it was cold enough to see your breath inside the rink area. This made it too hard on Kathy’s breathing to stay inside but luckily they built one end of the rink area with a glass wall so Kathy could watch from outside. The game was as fiercely competitive as the other night. Tyler managed four shots on net to which all were blocked but the game ended in a tie.
Another shot on net.
On the way home we stopped at the Bulk Barn and Metro Grocery Store to pick up what we couldn’t find at the Zehr’s the other day. As soon as we had our purchases put away I fired up the Weber to grill some nice Pork Kabobs for supper. Unfortunately someone had mislabeled the package and they turned out to be way too spicy for Kathy to eat. I enjoy spicy food but these were almost beyond my enjoyment.

Both the Weather Channel and the Local News Forecast were giving Severe Storm warnings for our area that should have hit this afternoon. Shortly after the news was over the clouds rolled in and the wind started blowing the curtains straight out from the windows causing a howling noise. Minutes later lightning started and was followed by rain that looked like a winter whiteout storm.

We still have things to do before Monday so we’ll just take it one step at a time. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
