Accomplishments.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Just when I was getting used to sleeping the way everyone is supposed to at night I was back to laying awake for the majority of last night. After laying awake for nearly an hour I spent the next two on the computer. Thinking that was enough time I returned to bed only to lay awake for another hour before finally drifting off to sleep. Of course one’s body tries to make up for lack of sleep by sleeping in later which was not a good thing this morning.

Soon after we’d finished breakfast Kathy and I were on our way to the trailer so I could take measurements for another project that had just come to mind the other day. Within two minutes I had information I needed and we were on the road to the closest Home Depot. The shopping list was a short one, a magnetic latch, a piece of pine strapping and a two foot square piece of plywood. As we were loading everything in the truck the skies once again opened up giving us more rain adding to the over saturation already on the ground.

We arrived at our son Kevin’s shortly after 10:00 and he had already gotten the table saw set up but then I surprised him with an extra project. Because our grandson Cameron has extremely sensitive hearing I try to avoid using saws when he is around and since he’ll be finished school for the summer next week I needed to finish cutting anything I needed before then.

Kevin and I managed to get all the trim made for the new project all before lunch. Kathy had made some nice Salmon sandwiches and a warm bowl of soup. With the temperature being much cooler today than the last few there was actually a chill to the air so the warmth was appreciated. Kathy had also been busy helping Organize the kitchen cabinets since Melissa and Kevin asked for her help at our visit last night. After only a few hours there was already a noticeable difference making it easier to find things because there was just too much STUFF.

Following lunch Kevin and I recut a new panel that I somehow overcut last week. This was used for the bottom of the drawer that I’m making that will fill in wasted space below the oven in our trailer. We needed to do quite a bit of clamping to straighten the wood that is already starting to bow and warp as it dries after being cut. Once that was screwed together we turned our attention to making the drawer face which required many more clamps to allow for the glue to dry. We had the whole thing put together and were cleaning up the garage just in time for Cameron to arrive home from school.

Back at the apartment I grilled a couple of hamburgers and large Portobello Mushrooms. The mushrooms were as big as the burgers and Kathy served them on the bun together with a rice side dish. Unfortunately they tasted so good that we forgot to take a picture.
After some sanding I'll be staining this drawer for our trailer.
The weather is supposed to be picture perfect heading into the weekend so we’ll have to see what comes up tomorrow. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
