More Chores and Errands.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Kathy and I both managed to have a decent sleep last night and woke up feeling refreshed even though we did sleep until nearly 8:00. After breakfast of cereal and coffee I immediately got busy sorting the laundry in hopes of having easy access to the washers and dryers down in the laundry room. Even though machines were already running when I went in nobody else was there. It didn’t take long and I had the wash going so I headed to the mail boxes before heading back to the apartment.

Knowing how long I had before needing to be back to move the clothes from the washers to the dryers I still had time to correct a mistake Kathy had made on the working spreadsheet that I’d made for her and explain the fix to her as well. Once that was done I headed back downstairs to change things around before heading back upstairs to have lunch which Kathy had made in the short time I was away. It seemed like the hour the dryers were running was only minutes and it took nearly an hour for all the folding.

Back at the apartment for only a couple of minutes we headed out to run a few errands. As mentioned in the past Kathy continues trying to reorganize the apartment so that one day we should be able to downsize to a single bedroom unit. One of the things she has been working on is downsizing our filing cabinet size and the other day we had found the perfect cabinet but we just decided to wait to buy it. Then there was a problem when she said you’ll have to make something to go on top so it can do more. I then said “What if we found a desk with two file drawers in it so I don’t have add to it?” That changed our game plan entirely. Back to the drawing board.

After stopping at Shoppers Drug Mart for vitamins we headed in search of the desk. Our first stop was at Staples near our home with no luck. Next we went to Monarch Office Supply where we had found the right sized file cabinet but there was not a desk there that was quite right. We then went to another Staples outlet that had a different selection of desks but again no luck. Finally we went to the Sears Furniture Outlet in our area and even though Irene the sales clerk showed us many different items nothing there filled our needs. Suddenly Irene remembered they had a catalogue of furniture that they didn’t have on display. There it was on the fifth page looking clean and a practical sized desk with two file drawers. It will be here on the 16th which is perfect for us.

Kathy made grilled cheese and ham sandwiches and salad for a simple supper. Tomorrow I’m hoping to get my outside work completed since the weather should be nicer than today. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
