Blogging Frustrations and Scarey Day.

Our Location Today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Last night we both slept fairly well and we were both awake before 9:00. After breakfast we were back on the computers doing more research. Just before noon I was reading that Rick Doyle from Rick and Paulette's Rv Travels has actually never used the word verification on their site. He stated that the new double word verification had gotten so difficult to decipher that many people are just giving up and not leaving comments. After reading more blog posts I noted what he was talking about and one comment I attempted to leave took me three tries before I was successful.

Still being slightly new to this I went back into the settings for comments to our blog. I was very surprised that the word verification that was there was the new Two Word Verification not the older single word system that was there when I first set it up. As of now we no longer have the word verification on our site because I would rather people who wish to leave comments can do so without any problems. If there is a problem with spam the delete button is only a click away.

This afternoon we ran errands that needed to be physically done and Kathy needed to shop for some clothes. So we took the Expressway to Howard Avenue to go to the Devonshire Mall. I dropped Kathy at the entrance to Sears then went to park. As I'm getting out of the truck I look back towards Howard to see an accident at the east bound ramp that we had just passed. The ambulance arrived before the police and were already treating the occupants of a car that was down in the ditch. Don't know whether the driver was going too fast or what.

By the time we were done at Sears the police and tow truck were there to clean things up. It was getting near supper so we thought we'd just grab a quick burger and fries from Wendy's up the road on Howard. A minute and a half drive and we were parked and went in to place our orders. Kathy had already gotten our table and when I brought the tray over I just looked up to see a white Jimmy turning quickly to go north that had heavy damage to its right front corner. Not thinking to clear on an empty stomach I suddenly noticed a lot of debris on the road where the Jimmy had been.

Suddenly a woman comes into Wendy's asking for help that there had been an accident. A senior woman in the passenger seat had sustained injuries to her leg when their vehicle had been broadsided by the Jimmy pulling out of a driveway. What had just happened was a Hit and Run. There were plenty of witnesses that had seen the whole thing that I didn't need to say the little I did see.

Kathy didn't want to press our luck and had me take Walker road out to visit with Kevin and Melissa tonight. You can imagine we had more to talk about than the usual stuff.

As I'm writing this post the temperature is still above freezing and there are very few traces of any snow left around. It sure sounds good to me especially since there is only 33 days before Spring arrives anyway. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

  1. I have turned off word verification on my blog and posted how to remove it for those who need a tutorial.

  2. Was it something in the air today or what? Glad you two managed to avoid the accidents and hope they catch the person driving the white Jimmy.

  3. I wouldn't avoid leaving a comment altogether because of the word verification, but I sure don't miss it either!! I sure hope that spring actually arrives at the end of your countdown!! 33 days will go by quickly. :)

  4. I certainly hope they catch that hit and run driver. You can figure he probably has no license, no insurance or too many other things on his record.

I do get some spam but very little without the word verification. Like you said it's easy to delete. There are some blogs I've had to try 3 or 4 times to get it right. I just give up too.

  6. Thanks for your comment on the CPAP. I have raised the humidity level and with the nose spray, I already notice some improvement but still a way to go.
