Partly Wet Twenty-Four Years.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

They say that when you stop something, it’s always hard to start again. Somehow I forgot to take my bedtime Medications for only Two Nights, but taking it last night had no effect at all. I might have even worn a path between the Bed and my Recliner all in an effort to sleep. I’ve also not been taking anything for the Shoulder Pain that seems to be increasing.

Kathy found me napping in my Recliner, waiting for my Computer to fire up. I had only been up for Ten Minutes since I left the Bedroom.

Looking out the Balcony Door, everything was wet with Puddles the size of Ponds covering the parking lot and side streets alike. Ten Minutes later we were having our Yogurt Cups and Bananas for breakfast.

The reason we went out yesterday instead of today was because of the forecasted Rain, that was supposed to last all day. Twenty-Four Years ago today, Kathy did me the honour of becoming my Wife. We both had Three adult children with our former spouses.

Since Kathy’s first marriage had been in September, I suggested she be a June Bride like many couples had done upon the completion of High School in our earlier years. There were plenty of Family and Friends there to help bring in this union. Sadly, many are no longer with us today. We are looking forward to our Twenty-Fifth Anniversary next year and more to follow.

Keeping in the celebratory mood, we enjoyed Nacho Chips and Cheese for lunch. That would turn out to be a little too lite a meal and we had to later add an Apple to our intake.

It was nearly 6:00 when we sat down to enjoy our Veggie Wraps for supper. Though the Rain stopped around noon, with the 102 F (39 C) Humidex it was better that we stayed inside.

Later we watched “Criminal Minds” and the “11 o’clock Local News”. The forecast for the next few days is the same as it was today. I think we might go out for a bit and walk between the drops.

Change Of Plans On The Eastside

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

The last couple of nights, I noticed that I was not sleeping as soundly as the week before. When Kathy and I were having breakfast this morning, the answer was staring me in the face. There was the bottle of Medication the doctor had prescribed for me, pushed back on the table. I’m supposed to take them before bedtime, every night and was warned they “May Cause Drowsiness”. The reason I laughed about that, was because they were not prescribed as a Sleep Aide.

The first thing I looked at this morning on my Computer, was “The Weather Network”. I was mainly interested in tomorrow’s weather. Many times when it shows bad weather for a particular day, I have been able to verify or prove it as wrong by simply watching the Radar. Unfortunately, it verified what the forecast had shown. After a quick talk with Kathy, there was a Change of Plans.

For lunch, we shared a Veggie/Bacon Omelette, that would definitely hold us over until supper.

After cleaning up the Dishes and Kitchen, we headed out around 2:00. Our destination was our daughter Karen’s house in Tecumseh for a quick visit. While there, Kathy even helped Karen bake some Cookies that everyone in the house take in their lunches at work. All the pets, Sanford, Nova and Stanley made certain to get their snuggles in before we left, and people say they’re Dumb. I think not.

The reason for changing Plans for tomorrow is the forecast is calling for a lot of Rain starting in the morning and continuing through the night. Not the type of weather we would want to go out in, so we did today, what we won’t accomplish tomorrow. We headed to Eastside Mario’s for supper. It’s been quite a while since we have been here and it felt good. We enjoyed our Soup, Salad and Garlic Bread all before our meals arrived. As soon as I laid eyes on them, I suggested something to Kathy. Each meal was the size of Two, so we cut them in Half and now have another meal in the Fridge for later this week.

When we headed for home, it was already feeling like 104 F (40 C), so the first thing we did when we walked into the Apartment, was to turn on the Air Conditioner.

We enjoyed a few episodes of “Criminal Minds” before calling it an early night. Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

Cautiously Optimistic.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Even though my eyes had shut on me a few times on Friday afternoon, having gotten up so early that morning definitely had a lot to do with the way I slept last night and it was good.

Minutes after getting up this morning Kathy joined me in the Livingroom and was excited when I served her favourite breakfast, Chocolate/Banana Pancakes. She was finishing her breakfast by the time I sat down to enjoy mine.

Of course we took our Coffees to the Computers where we both did our customary reading. While I read the Local News and Weather, along with Blogs and Correspondences, Kathy was getting caught up in the quagmire of old news. Even though the temperature was slightly cooler than yesterday, she thought that it was too Hot to go outside.

With no Clouds to block the heat from the direct Sunlight from streaming into the Apartment, the only alternative was to turn on the Air Conditioner. That actually made it hard to warm up the Italian Wedding Soup that we had for lunch as a way of warming us up.

When it came to supper, we enjoyed Honey Garlic Spareribs, sauteed Asparagus and Potato Slices. We later enjoyed a small dish of Frozen Yogurt for dessert.

The forecasted Rain for our area for today, never materialized and I am hoping it repeats itself for the next few days.

We later watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files” before calling it a night.

Hearing Voices and It’s Open.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Even though I knew that the Alarm was set last night, I was having a good night’s sleep, until I heard voices in the Livingroom. It was a little unnerving for a moment, then I turned to see Kathy was not in bed and it was barely 7:00 this morning. When I got to the other room, I found her talking to her brother Danny with her phone set on Speaker mode, because she wasn’t wearing her Hearing Aides yet. It didn’t seem to bother her, that it was earlier than most people are normally calling someone else at home, just to see how things were going.

After a lite snack for breakfast, we were soon on our way out the door. There was a gentle breeze that was keeping things comfortable. All the Forecasts had called for wet weather but if it rained at all, it was not in our County. We made our own detours that allowed us to get to Advanced Rehabilitation Center (ARC) fairly easily. The last time we were there was Friday the 13th and before leaving Kelly made today’s appointment for me, even giving me the Card, but she forgot to mark me into the Main Appointment Book. Because she is also trained Physiotherapist I was waved in anyways. It was mostly the TENS and Laser treatments that I’m there for, because I do the same exercises everyday at home. We made certain my next appointment was written in the book.

Since we had a few more stops to make, we had Planned on grabbing a quick bite, but when we were about to drive by the Backroad Cafe and saw it open and stopped in. There was mention that it was going to close its doors a few months ago. It seems that after the announcement customers that had drifted off to the Fast-Food places, quickly came back. To many, this is a Landmark that has been around for nearly Fifty Years. This is where you are seated, the waitress takes your order, and it’s cooked to order. This is also the type of place you talk not only to one another, but other patrons as they wait the few minutes for their orders as well.

Our next stop was to Guardian Storage to collect our Mail, but when we got there, the Office was closed with a note in the door, that they would be back soon. Instead of just sitting there, we brought the Camping Chairs back to the Storage Unit to free up the space in our back seat. Back at the Office, we barely parked when they returned from dealing with a rogue customer.

We then headed to the Pioneer gas station to top off the Car. If you have a Journey Points Card, you save Ten Cents Per Litre on Fridays through the month of June.

Our next stop was was Zehr’s grocery store, to pick up a few things that we use the most. Problem was, that I spotted Meats that were unbelievably priced. Even though our Freezer is full, I would find a way to make it fit.

Another quick stop was made at Dollarama to pick up some Brisk Iced Tea, because it is much cheaper there than at the grocery stores.

We parked the Car together and used our Folding Two Wheeled Shopping Cart to bring everything up to the Apartment. After nearly an Hour, everything was finally put away.

Since we hadn’t spent any time on the Computers earlier this morning, we had a lot of catching up to do. Unfortunately, due to my not getting enough sleep last night, my eyes kept closing, adding more time to the chore.

It was past 7:00 when we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Hawaiian Pizza for a late supper.

We later watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files” and the “11 o’clock Local News”.
