I seem to be developing a routine that is helping me to get more sleep at night. After publishing the Blog last night, I only spent Ninety Minutes sleeping in my Recliner before going to bed for the rest of the night. Having Planned ahead, I had set the Alarm, so we’d be out the door on time for our appointment, but when I started staring at the Clock with Ten Minutes to go, I just started my day early. Even though it was a Cloudy Day outside Kathy did not appreciate me pulling the covers off her head to wake her for the second day in a row.

As forecasted last night we had Freezing Rain, so there was no hesitation to get to the Car early. Once Kathy was comfortably inside, and the Car was warming up, I would spend the next Fifteen Minutes scraping the Ice off the windows. The building Management had made certain all the sidewalks and pavement had been salted. On the road we managed to be the Fifth Car following the City Service Truck, spreading non-corrosive Beet Juice to de-ice the City Streets.

We arrived at our Family Doctor’s Office with minutes to spare. We barely sat in the Waiting Room when Lisa brought us in. We spent all of Two Minutes waiting before George came in. After asking us both questions about how we felt he surprised us by saying we both had the same Blood Pressure of 125. There’s more to be checked for my Neck after the X-Rays showed deterioration of the Discs, which could be causing the nerves to be pinched in the spinal cord. He simply rewrote the order for Kathy’s Blood Test that I had lost.

Since our earlier breakfast had simply been Juice to take our morning pills with, and a couple of Cookies, we headed to the nearby A&W for a 10:00 Brunch.

As we drove back across the City, I was pleasantly surprised to see most vehicles being driven cautiously. Even the ones with only the front windows that had been cleaned.

Having a list of Five Vitamins that I’ll need before this weekend, we stopped at Three different Shoppers Drug Marts to accomplish that feat. Since Covid, it seems that more people are using supplements to boost their immune systems, and since Thursdays are also Senior’s Discount Days, people are stocking up.

From there we headed to Dollarama, to stock up on Juices and Iced Tea. From there we went to the Bulk Barn, where Kathy needed her Dark Chocolate covered Almonds. Doctors say they are healthy and she only has Two a day.

Finally, we went to the Zehr’s grocery store. We spent over an Hour slowly walking all the aisles getting what we needed and checking prices. The same $2.00 Juice we got at Dollarama, was On-Sale for $3.00 at the grocery store. We were reading labels for ingredients and nutritional values. What we found was the No-Name Products were better than the Name Brands most of the time. Though we were cautious to save money, it still cost lots $$$.

We were at our final stop for the Vitamins, when I realized, I had forgotten to replace our Planner. Instead of paying $30.00 for the new refill Calendar for our business planner, a stop at another Dollarama, got us a better deal.

I parked the Car by the rear entrance of our building to off load all our purchases, which filled our Folding Two Wheeled Shopping Cart twice. Kathy brought the second load up by herself, while I parked the Car in its assigned spot.

Inside the Apartment, it would take another Hour to get everything put away, before I had to start making more appointments. First, we used Kathy’s Calendar as a reference, to recreate our new Planner. The Tests our Doctor wants me to do, have a Waiting List, so they might call on short notice if they have cancellation. Next, I was able to make an appointment for Kathy’s blood test. When it was immediately confirmed I wrote it in the Planner. Later Kathy gets an On-Line Confirmation with a totally different date.

The 6 o’clock Local News was on before I started adding Cherry Tomatoes, Olives, Mushrooms and extra Mozzarella Cheese to a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Spinach Pizza. We weren’t hungry all afternoon, but suddenly we were starving. It had been over Seven Hours since we’d eaten.

After doing up the Dishes, we watched Matlock”, “Law and Order” and “The Pitt”.
