Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
Even though we both went to bed at the
same time last night Kathy couldn’t remember doing so because she was asleep
the moment her head touched the pillow. We both slept late this morning thus
waking up totally refreshed. Even after the heavy rain we had last evening as
soon as we’d eaten breakfast I was outside watering the plants and grass. The Humidex at that time was only 95 F (35 C) at 9:00 in the morning.
We made a few phone calls as well as
getting our usual reading finished before lunch. Last week when we were busy
getting ready for Ross’s Memorial and
to leave on our vacation we somehow missed our haircutting appointment. It
seems we had not written it on the calendar we hang on the wall so it wasn’t
until we looked at our Day-Planner that
we noticed the mistake.

The past few days as well as a few more
to come have had and will have Humidex readings
above the Century Mark and it
finally got to be too much. Not for Kathy and I because we simply stay inside
the Air Conditioning in the trailer. It was the trailer that was having the
problem with the heat. Our Humidex readings
during the dark of the night have not dropped below 90 F (32 C) so it got to
be too much for our waste tanks. Even though there was very little waste in
them the heat was drying out the tanks and causing them to smell up the inside
of the trailer each time a toilet was flushed. After emptying all the tanks
again this afternoon, I also had to flush both the black tanks using the
internal flush system. As soon as Kathy saw me coming back inside the trailer she
was busy adding deodorizers in those two tanks. The trailer is now smelling
much fresher.
For supper while Kathy sautéed some Onions,Carrots
and Scalloped Potatoes inside the trailer I was grilling some Spare Ribs on the Weber Q outside. With the Humidex
being 115 F (46 C) at the time it didn’t take long for our meal to be ready. As
usual it all tasted great.
You could tell it was Friday as the weekend
trailers and working seasonal RVers were pulling in all day. The high Humidex for this area will not start
cooling down until nearly next weekend. Hope they can handle it as even
Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for our region. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe
and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

A civil question deserves a civil answer.
The heat shouldn't give you a smell from your tanks.
ReplyDeleteHumidex? Is that the heat index? I can't believe it's hotter up there than Florida.
