Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
With all the running around we did
yesterday it was no wonder that we both nearly passed out when our heads hit our
pillows but it did result in a very restful sleep which also meant that we were
both awake by 8:00 this morning. Referencing the calendar hanging on the wall
we knew we could take our time getting things done without being in a rush.
With breakfast complete and the
important reading finished the next thing to do was watering the grass while Kathy
did some reading. In doing so allowed me the opportunity to see our neighbour
Larry and personally thank him for the gifted tomatoes. When asked about the
grass he confessed it wasn’t him but the Park’s
lawn maintenance people who did it. He also mentioned that they had used
smaller home type lawnmowers instead of the large machine that had been doing
more damage than good around the mowing sites.
For lunch Kathy used one of those
tomatoes to make sandwiches for lunch. Again she is in the process of using up
foods in the trailer that could spoil over the weekend because we’ll be going
away for a few days and we feel wasted food is the same as throwing our money
away.
When lunch was over Kathy busied herself
doing expense entries on our expenditure spreadsheet. Since the Weather Network
had forecasted severe storm warnings for today and the darkening sky seemed to
back up that prediction I started working on data entries from another file I’ve
been working on. By getting these entered on file before we leave for the
southwest this fall means the hardcopies can be left behind in our storage
unit. As the weather becomes more favourable I’ll be spending more time working
outside rather than in.
By 2:00 this afternoon we were
surrounded by distant thunder but did share in the rainfall which helped drop
the 95 F (35 C) Humidex. The wind
was no issue but by watching on the computer we were able to see the rotation
of the storm allowing us to know when to expect each round of rain before it
arrived.
Shortly after 3:30 we arrived back at Sun Parlour Trailers to have a look at another fifth wheel
that Rob had just gotten in as a trade. The person that brought it in had told
him that he paid to have the trailer cleaned before bringing it in. We saw it
at the same time he did and we all agreed that if the trailer had been cleaned
it was the owner that got taken to the cleaners. It was also much older than we
planned to go with so he’ll keep his eyes peeled for us.
It was nearly 5:00 when we left so we
headed to Amherstburg to have supper. Since we are still
trying to get the feel of what is available in this small community we continue
to explore for new possibilities. Our daughter-in-law Melissa had suggested a small little restaurant called Mealtime Express located near Walmart. When we first drove by the
density of their reflective sunscreen window shades made us think the place was
abandoned. On the second drive pass I could see people’s legs sitting by the
window. Kathy and I were soon inside and pleasantly surprised at this quaint
little place. The service was quick and polite, the food hot, tasty and
plentiful, and it was priced reasonably. When we first arrived there were maybe
a dozen customers but by the time we left there was at least thirty people filling
the tables. We’ll definitely be going back.
After a quick stop at Dollarama for a few small supplies we were soon on our way Home. The
rain returned shortly after we got inside but at least there is no thunder with
it. Thanks for following along and feel free to
leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Years ago we were shopping for a used RV. One dealer did not clean the units before showing. They said they did it AFTER the sale. Sorry, but I don't want to look at a nasty, dirty rig. No sale there.
ReplyDeleteBut....what fun it is to shop, isn't it?
Hi! How far south are you heading in 93 days? You know I'm in Atlanta. I'll be home from Colorado by then. Wouldn't it be great if we could meet?! You are always welcome to my home--have a long driveway that you can park your ridge in, but you are welcome to stay in the house! I haven't been reading blogs, as you know, so while I should know where your headed I don't know.
ReplyDeleteHope you find a great rig in your search. I know there are plenty out there. It's just a matter of finding the right one.
Please think about your travel schedule and consider Atlanta. If you aren't coming through here, perhaps I could meet you if you are within a few hours.
I appreciate all the support you have provided to me through thick and thin.
