Grey Day Taking Care Of Business.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Due to our staying up late last night it was a fair trade off that we would naturally sleep until 8:00 this morning. However when we opened the curtains it was hard to tell what time of day it actually was. The sky was grey, the ground was white and we couldn’t see the homes behind the parking lot. This would be the same type of weather we would face throughout the day as the temperature would hover close to the freezing mark. Since we had made certain to complete all the up-to-date hauling to our storage unit as well as our donations we were in no real hurry to go anywhere.

After having a light breakfast we settled in on the computers getting caught up on our morning reading. At this point Kathy handed me another list of companies that had to be notified of our subsequent change of address to take place immediately. Surprisingly it seemed that all the numbers on this morning’s list I was immediately able to connect within the first few rings to actual human beings that were more than happy to help me out.

With the phone calls completed and this being Fat Tuesday we decided to walk over to the nearby Tim Horton’s coffee shop. We each had a coffee and a Paczki with Strawberry filling. There was enough sugar in the filling alone that this treat doubled as our lunch. It felt nice just getting out of the apartment and the weather was still comfortable for that short of a walk. However before we could leave two of my former coworkers that I had worked with for quite a number of years stopped by our table. When they asked what we were up to and we told them they were in awe and wondering why they hadn’t done something like that.

The new building owners Skyline Living have been doing a lot of upgrades to our building since October and one that just started last week was a remodeling of the front lobby. There were notices posted at all entrances yesterday that the front lobby would be closed and off limits today. On our return walk we stopped by the outside of the front door just so we could see the progress that was being made. The entire lobby has been repainted, the security cameras have all been upgraded and all the old ceramic tiling was removed and being replaced. Even though we’ll be leaving soon it will look amazing.

Kathy found another list of calls for me to make this afternoon. (She broke it up so I wouldn’t get sick of doing them all at once.) While I was on the phone Kathy busied herself cooking and baking in the kitchen which made it difficult for me to concentrate on what I was doing as the aromas of the food failed to stay in the kitchen. As soon as I’d finished this second list of the day I volunteered to help chopping the vegetables she needed for her Homemade Chili that she was making. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to actually taste it because it’s sitting in the fridge where all the flavors are melding together.

For supper we enjoyed a Peppered Ham on Egg Noodle that had me telling Kathy not to loose that recipe. The fresh baked apple pie also helped to top off the meal. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

 Ask a silly question

If the universe is everything and scientists say that the universe is expanding,

what is it expanding into?

  3. Should you be among people who love mobile home retirement parks and plan excitedly to retire and purchase in one, a word of caution.
Things won't be as safe as it appears. Find out exactly what amenities that is going to be provided. Be cautious to read the contract carefully.
