Praying For A Dear Friend and Hot Happy Birthday.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We both woke up feeling very refreshed this morning after having a good night’s sleep. While watching the Weather Network while having our breakfast we noted that today was again going to have a Humidex bordering on the century mark and since we had plans for the afternoon we decided to stay cool inside the apartment until then.

When it neared lunch Kathy started toasting some bread getting ready for the Hungarian Houlka that I was grilling on the Weber. It just seems to taste better grilled like that. Once it was done Kathy split it open and spread it on the toast open faced with mustard on it. It just melted in your mouth.

Since we haven’t heard from our friends Bill and Vera in a couple of weeks Kathy called and spoke to Vera. Bill had taken a fall over two months ago and banged his head on a curb. When an MRI was done there was blood found on his brain. That was definitely not a good thing as it was causing Bill to be off balance. Surgery was just done to remove the pressure this last week. When Bill tried walking with assistance the other day he was again off balanced. Another MRI was done and more blood was found on the brain. They will attempt one more surgery to correct his problem but since he is 83 years old with a heart condition this could be another problem. We’ll be praying for our friend and be there if Vera needs support.
Our Granddaughter Kylla.

Around 2:30 we headed over to our Daughter Karen’s for a celebration. Our granddaughter Kylla is no longer a teenager. Since her summer job as a Temporary Part Time worker keeps her on the Midnight Shift she had just gotten out of bed and had a shower before we arrived. She didn’t want me taking her picture because she didn’t have her makeup just right but the celebration was still nice. Karen also took the time to show me the landscape project she wants me to do for her before next weekend.
Not sure what to serve Karen had three small specialty cakes.
Back at the apartment Kathy made her garlic pasta with a vegetable mix as sides while I grilled a couple of hamburgers for our supper on the Weber Q. Our grandson Matthew’s soccer game that was to be played outside this evening was cancelled due to the high heat so after the news we watched a movie that we’d missed at theaters until 9:00.  We’re hitting the road on Friday and we’ve got some work to do before. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
