Our Location today is Bushnell,
Florida.
I mentioned in our blog post on Saturday that we had gotten
up early without the use of an alarm clock. We actually have three in the
trailer but we figured if we woke up early the way we wanted great but if not
Oh Well. So we repeated the performance today with a special destination in
mind.
After a light breakfast we were out the door by 8:00 headed for the Webster Flea Market. Since we
had forgotten about it last Monday and arrived later in the afternoon today we
wanted an earlier start. The temperature was supposed to reach the mid to upper
80’s today so this gave us a chance to beat the heat.
Another thing we did today was to go in through an entrance
at the opposite end of the fairgrounds. There were many more vendors set up for
business at this time of day then we had seen last week. We actually had very
certain items that we were looking for so we weren’t just shopping on a whim. If
it wasn’t on our list we weren’t buying it.
Having been to many of these flea markets in the past most
things seen here were not that surprising to us but then there were a few that
were pleasant and not so pleasant surprises. We ended up grabbing a hot dog
around 11:00 just to tide us over
until we went for lunch somewhere at an outside restaurant. By 12:30 we had gotten our fair share of walking
and people watching for the day and did manage to make a half dozen purchases
without breaking the bank.
Wanting something other than Carnival type foods that was
being served at the fair grounds so we headed to Bushnell. First thing before
eating we stopped to top off the fuel tanks on the truck. With fuel at the Hess
station going for $3.889 a gallon we saved over $20.00 from our last couple of fill
up’s.
After a quick drive through Bushnell we settle on Wendy’s
for lunch where Kathy had a chance to settle her salad craving before we headed
back to the trailer after 2:00. All
the way back the sky was so cloudy that I didn’t dare start anything outside. Instead
I was helping Kathy with her research for our stay in Florida
next year. We stopped the research after 5:00
for a simple egg on toast breakfast for supper.
Tomorrow the weather is promising more cloudy skies so we’ll
just have to find something to keep us busy. Thanks for following along and
feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

In 1997 an e-mail
message spread world-wide announcing that the Internet would be shut down for
cleaning March 31- April 2 to clear out the "electronic flotsam and
jetsam" that had accumulated in the network. This was an updated version
of an old joke about phones. For many years, gullible folks had been warned
that the phone systems would be cleaned on April Fool's Day. They were
cautioned to place plastic bags over the ends of the phone to catch the dust
that might be blown out of the phone lines during this period.

Oh my there was everything to pick from at that flea market. You title was cute. I couldn't figure out how you had fleas though. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the flea market in Ft. Myers, FL. When my Mom and Dad lived there and we would visit we would always have to make a trip to the flea market. Never came home empty handed. Next time you go to Wendy's Kathy might want to try the Baja Salad. My wife loves it. The chili on the salad is great. Curt
