Remembrance and Visiting.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Late to bed and early to rise led to another wonderful night’s sleep. I actually lay in bed for Two Minutes, before starting my day at 7:00 this morning.

I had things ready for breakfast and was on my Computer when Kathy joined me an Hour later. We enjoyed a Carrot Muffins along with Raspberry Parfaits, before taking our Coffees back to the Computers.

We personally acknowledged the Eleventh Hour this morning as many around the world did. For Kathy it was more personal because her Father was captured after days of fighting, then spent the remainder of the War as a POW. Even then the brutality he witnessed led to him fighting the demons, that finally led to his demise.

Lest we forget”.

I figured that we should eat a lite lunch since it was early, so we had a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup and a slice of Tuxedo Cake for dessert. We cleaned up the Dishes before heading out.

We arrived at Riverside Place to visit with my Aunt Anna. Around the end of the Covid outbreak she had fallen and broke her Leg. Through pure determination she kept pushing herself, until she was again walking with the aid of only a Walker. Just after her 85th Birthday this year she again fell, this time breaking her Arm. Since she needed her arm for the Walker, the Doctor confined her to bed. When we arrived, with the help of Physiotherapists she was again walking. It will be some time before she is back to only using her Walker.

Her daughters Suzie and Jackie were also there visiting. Their sister Ann-Marie was home in Michigan recovering from a Traffic Accident that left her with a broken Leg. She was riding her Motorcycle when an Intoxicated Driver ran a Red Light and hit her broadside. Like her mother she will recover.

The rest of our Three-Hour visit was enjoyable, and I even came home with pictures from my childhood and graduation. We’ll be checking our Calendars to get together for the Christmas Holidays.

Even though I felt it, Kathy was the one to say she was hungry, and we were eating out. With all the road construction, we took a few back roads and an alley to end up at Wendy’s for supper. Kathy had the Apple/Pecan Salad, while I had the Taco Salad. It’s amazing how filling Salads are. Maybe that’s why most animals that eat grass all the time are so big.

We were back home on time to watch the 6 o’clock Local News. Most of their stories were about Remembrance/Veterans Day dedications and the stories told by some veterans of those campaigns.

Lest we forget”.
